in 10 Minute Guide to Plurk - Part 1 on SU Comments
That's a very helpful post Te-Ge.
Although I can't spend too much time on Plurk, I DO enjoy it when I'm online.
Being able to differentiate responses from the rest of the messages, something that is very difficult to do at Twitter, is their main benefit.
And, since there aren't that many people on Plurk yet, it's quite easy to follow conversations.
I suggest you try Plurk using Teeg's explanation.
It's fun. :-)

in The Death of Twitter - The Whale has Fallen on SU Comments
The most important benefit I experienced using Twitter is the responsiveness of everyone hanging out there, even the 'experts'.
It's a real pity this great way of communicating is taken away from us, due to technical failures.
Plurk is a nice alternative, but it's a burden to build your friend list again.

in Why Gmail’s 13 New Options Suck and 6 We Desperately Need on Marketing Pilgrim
Great points Andy!
But...
My Gmail often freezes the browser (FF), so that's on my priority list.
When I log in, first thing I have to do is switch to Older version to prevent freezing.
For the rest, I'm with you and your requests.

Wow, FF is one I'm not that familiar with, so I'm reading this with great interest and looking forward to the next issue. Didn't know about “imaginary friends”!
Thanks a lot Teeg and Marc.

Hi Teeg
I would most definitely buy the wireless.
No PC necessary, just connect to your wireless router et voila...
you can walk around, chasing J, while still talking!
Sounds like a lot of fun to me. :-)

in Voice Blogging With Snapvine on Sage Blogger
Hi Vlad,
Just arrived here to check out how you implemented Disqus and then saw Snapvine again (visited earlier).
Proves again you're an innovative guy. Love that.
Going the check both systems out.
Thanks.

in Declaring Akismet Bankruptcy on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Since I read your post on Spam Karma configuration I dumped Akismet and never looked back.
SK2 is doing a great job in general and only needs a very rare adjustment of a false positive.
Thanks for that recommendation, certainly after reading your Akismet experiences.

Amazing!
The first few seconds it looks ok, but then you discover how big this is.
Gave it a stumble.

in Five Levels of Social Conversation on Chris Brogan
I think these levels depend more on the intensity of the relationship, than on social communication.
You only reach level 5 with your closest friends, including spouses/children/parents.
The rest strongly depends on What's In It For Me, that is: what can I get out of the relationship and how deep do I need to go to achieve that?
Just a thought.

in Using “Google” in Place of “Hypocrite” on Marketing Pilgrim
It seems as if Google gets more arrogant which each new event that occurs.
Basically, they're right though. They only should have added themselves too. :-)

in Google Blocks My Blog And Warns Visitors? on The Michel Fortin Blog
I had the exact same happen to me with Bad Behavior, only ...
I was lucky enough to detect the problem ten minutes after using my blog. Had to go back to change something and couldn't log in. I used FTP to delete the plugin. No harm done (I think).
From this experience I also learned to upgrade the plugins that I use. It shows in the Plugin tab whenever a new release is issued and then I install immediately.
What a lesson! Not good for the heart. :-)

in Do You Trust My Advice? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Most people online, given the choice between 'building a business' or 'making a quick buck' will choose the latter.
Rick's info is about building a business, but takes too long for most of them.
In my opinion, that may be one reason for low conversions.
How do they compare to more simpler and easier to install/use products you promote?

in Gmail Want Help With Spam Filters on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
> You're certainly not alone, Andy.
Exactly. That's why I asked the question in the first place.
For me, it's a difficult choice between ending false positives
and privacy. I tend towards giving the emails, but haven't
decided yet.

Gmail account.
As far as Snapvine is concerned, it is really easy to use (but I think they
are limited to US customers), I can't get any good quality out of it, every
time I record something it sounds like I am in a fish tank. Thanks for
stopping by.
