in Flic.kr Short URL - Garibion on Garibion
How do I use flic.kr to shorten URLs?
www.flic.kr just takes me to www.flickr.com.

Ryosuke Takeoka See the source code for each photo page on Flickr. Then you will see the code like:

<link rev="canonical" type="text/html" href="http://flic.kr/p/******" >

That is the shortened URL for each photo page.

in 13 iPhone Apps I Want Developed (Google, ESPN, FriendFeed) on Ryan Spoon
I use the Wordpress app for my Wordpress.org account. No problem.

I'd like to see a REAL Contact Manager for iPhone... something I figured would have come as a stock app. But I guess the iPhone is not for business. It's a gadget. It's an iPod with a phone, some games, and a shitty browser.

I would like to see FIREFOX ... or a choice in browsers. Apple tries to portray it as the hip, cool company... but they're more monopolistic and corporate control than Microsoft.

in Office Live - Google Docs, you better start improving on Lost The Tech
Firstly, I think Google Docs blows.

So, I just gave Office Live a (very) quick test drive by uploading an existing Excel spreadsheet.
It uploaded fine, but I got this message when I tried to open it:

"The document cannot be viewed in Web-page format. Click Save As to download the document to your desktop and open it in its original program. Click here to learn about the file types that can be viewed in Web page format."

However, I'm using Firefox so no surprises here.

Check out Zoho. It kicks the crap outta Office Live and Google Docs.

in How Secure is Mint.com? on r3fresh
I signed up for Mint. I thought I'd be able to use nicknames for my accounts, credit cards, and loans. I was stunned when they asked for my bank account numbers, passwords, etc.

They are using Yodlee as their back-end, saying Mint does not store your info. However, they "access" your info and accounts "from time to time" to update your Mint account.

They require a lot of faith in their encryption and security.

For now... not a chance.
