I don't see what that has to do with my post.

These bombs are so antiquated they rarely even go off. (not that that makes it right for them to be fired but Israels response is disgustingly over the top, I believe if they thought they could get away with it they would just Nuke Palastine off the map)
Everyone knows Israeli leaders are only doing this so the could kill a lot of Palastinians while Bush was still in office "hoping" that they could garner support and control some media with the help of their buddy Bush.

Monie
Israel may have the right to fight back when attacked.....
However, does that also give them the right to continue to expand settlements onto Palestinian land, while the US and others stay mute? No one ever really wants to talk about the land and homes that the Palestinians are having confiscated from them. Believe it or not, Palestinians are suffering too.
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been a very delicate situation for a long time, and it appears the US unequivocably stands by Isreal----since they receive over $2 billion dollars in aid from this nation every year while many Americans here go without health care.
Bush decided early on that he wanted to see the Palestinians "exercise" democracy and elect a new government. The moderate leader Mahmoud Abbas even warned Bush of pressuring the nation to hold elections for fear that Hamas would win its citizens support----and guess what, Hamas did.

in Let’s get in some trouble today. Black people and ‘Class’. on Jack and Jill Politics
"...both blacks and whites..." wtf does anyone else have to do with OUR problems? The excuse is always made that so & so does this too. I can't count how many times I've heard about how Fortune 500 company CEO are "criminals too"; the difference being THEY ARE FORTUNE 500 COMPANY CEOs. They, their families, their communities benefit from their misdeeds. I have yet to see the same effect with the average street pharmacist. It is time to stop making excuses. The entire article likens poor blacks to children, not to be held accountable.

I think it was funny. I just don't get why they can't hire some black people? I mean when they had blacks folks as cast members it worked out well for them so why regress?

Fucking exactly. I doubt, if this were ANY other race, this would even come up. There is a certain amount of reverence and respect we have never (and may never) receive. We got people busy trying to convince us that Barack is so "different" on the grounds that his mommy was white. YET this is the same country, mind you, that won't recognize Sally's children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren/etc as descendants of JEFFERSON. Are they not bi/multi racial? Oh, my bad: they're black. It's all extremely convenient that now they decide the blackness of an individual like Barack is no longer authentic when in office of POTUS. I could go on and on, but I want Richardson called biracial as well. Let's make the playing field even.

LOL! You forget he was born in '61. There was no decision as to blackness, it just was. From what I gather from his books, she acknowledged that and told him to be proud of it.

I think we're on the same page. This HAS been bothering me A LOT because they could not let the victory go down 30 days before they started this BS. Then have the nerve to outright say "why would he want to do that'? I really want somebody to be asked on spot to finish that sentence. Tell us what is so bad about being black and let their true selves be revealed.

They kill me with the "not really black" assigned to any & all who do not fit neatly into the stereotype. It's easier with Barack, that's all.

They claim 39% are "of color". I guess that's pretty diverse for these types of institutions?

Same thing I say. And for what I understand this school is very grounded. Academically excellent, but not big on snobbery. It's pretty much ideal. No need to try to make a point when you've paid truckloads of student loans to make sure your kids CAN do better.

in Mr. President-Elect, it’s time to end ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ on Jack and Jill Politics
I don't get how people have elected a Centrist and expect him to come out of the gate pushing for very LIBERAL policies. With all of the harassment that goes down in the military, I just can't see it. No one can claim they are being discriminated against due to life style because technically no one "knows". It seems more peaceful to me to keep it that way than to again try pushing sexuality into an already sexually hostile environment.

Wow! Reading some of the responses at the source site really had me taken aback. Some folks actually expected them to go to public school? For what? They were in private school while living in Chicago.

Hope there are some little sistas there as well...I don't know what their school situation was in Chicago, but it would be good for them to see a mix of young girls and women at their school.
D.C. public schools, until recently I have heard, are pretty tough. About as
tough as New York...or New Orleans...

I just roll my eyes at those folks. Some people just don't get it. I moved around a lot when I was younger, it was hard. Those girls need as much stability as possible. They shouldn't have to be made into a giant experiment. They went to a lab school in Chicago, a private school (or another lab school) would be an easier transition than the DC Public School System.
I never understood this mentality of "keeping it real=staying in the ghetto" (of course, not to equate public schools with projects, I went to a public school, private school, lab school, and parent co-op, all kinds of folks were in all kinds of places, lol). If you work had to get out poverty/ghetto/projects/etc. shouldn't you kids enjoy the fruits if your labor? Isn't that why people try so hard to get out in the first place, to make a better life for their kids? Didn't we expect former presidents to give their kids the best? Don't we want that for our own president-elect? Those folks need to give me a break with that mess!

And the lame comments that 'Amy Carter went to public school' is just that... lame.
Amy Carter attended Washington, DC, public schools,[1] including Stevens Elementary School and Hardy Middle School.[2][3][4] However, Carter struggled to make friends at the schools she attended, and she was not allowed outside for recess because the school's playground was too near the street.
The above is an excerpt from wikipedia. Not the most accurate source, but still..if that is true, what the hell kind of life is that for a little girl?
Of course the Obama girls should attend a private school, for no other reason that private schools can control who comes and goes from their property. Of course, the schools that they looked at were all excellent. And they are smart girls, so they need an academic challenge AND some friends.
Sheesh, why are people confused about this?

I do wonder what exactly he has had to give up yet I still don't get the need to "weep" for her so to speak. Michelle has accomplished A LOT. Her career was still thriving up until 2007. I do not understand why there is so much emphasis on her needing to take over the world. I feel people are projecting Hillary's aspirations on Michelle and, if for some reason, Michelle does not necessarily share that sentiment then she is less for it.

I think when you put in context of "slave/mother", especially when applied to a black woman, the word Queen rarely comes up outside of the community. I would gladly take that title in lou of all others we have been assigned.

Yeah I believe it. You hear that "don't remind us you're black" all the time. "Don't call her the First BLACK anything, she's human". LOL! I guess there are no black human beings? I mean, what, with the 400 years of rape, illegitimacy, and servitude it should mean little to nothing to us to see her in this position. And god forbid she mention it?
