in "Cold case" bill gets another hearing Thursday in State House on Nashua Telegraph
An effective cold case unit is now necessary, in order to reduce the large backlog of open murder cases and to help restore safety in the community.

in Still calm, still cool, still winning on Nashua Telegraph
I read this article with interest and am saddened. I would like to know how many books laden with lead would it take for a child to eat to either show any trace amounts in their blood and how much it would take to develop symptoms. I also would like to know how many it would take in handling to show the above amounts. I personally think that it's an overreaction to a non-problem. In bringing up our children years ago, I haven't even heard of any that developed any problems due to lead (with parent supervision). The kids also did better in school than those now in NH schools. Perhaps we should increase the lead uptake???/

in Candidate op-eds: Yes or no? on The Editor's Blog

Because of the space limitations - I would recommend The Telegraph placing a line, indicating the Op Ed subject, author and where a reader could view it On-line for full text.

In this way, The Telegraph would be fulfilling its important role in informing citizens of critical views of all candidates who request Op Ed space, while not clogging its printed pages.

Nick - Thanks for educating us on what to expect from you in the editorial pages. Because there has been so much written about issues without a factual context, many could be led astray. I acknowledge that since many of the issues facing us today are complex and far reaching, they should have at least a depth of discussiojn that brings both a historic and and scientific facets to the discussion and arguments. In this way, folks will be able to reason more effectively and choose leaders and influence policy to guide our course.

I'd like to see a detailed analysis by the "Watchdogs" as to how the out of control spending by Governments (Fed, State and local) is putting whole classes of folks in danger by taking away their present and future financial freedoms. The present welfare system is riddled with abuses and tax reform such as the fair tax should be strongly considered and implemented. Welfare should be administered sparingly and locally, where those needy recipients are known.
