I just can not function without an actual keyboard, lol.
Don't do it - stay with your fuze or touch pro. YOU NEED KEYS!

in My Top Picks for 2008 on Mobigasmic
In my review of the best and worst of the year on my blog the htc fuze was one of the best. same as the touch pro, this phone is the best of the bunch in my opinion. The blackberry Bold, while a nice upgrade, was also much larger then the curve. this was a turn off for me. The pancake size phone just seemed large in my hand if you were a long time blackberry user.

in So how much time do you waste on Twitter ? on A Blog with a DiffeRence !
I find it an incredible waste of time. Facebook, Twitter, they all are ultimately counterproductive and make you have to rush to get done the important stuff. I waste AS MUCH time as anyone else online and on my mobile phone, but try to stay away from games or social networks (for fun reasons).

in HTC Fuze Case on Mobigasmic
Thanks for the new info. much appreciated. I am still looking for a "skin", either hard plastic, or rubber that will form fit over my Fuze like I used to have for my Blackberry phones. the one I just ordered and am waiting to receive to see how it works is this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&i... - For $10 I figured it was worth checking out. I will report back on how I like it once it arrives.

in Matte Back Cover for HTC Fuze on Mobigasmic
It looks really nice, but I agree that $30 is pricey. I could use that $30 for another 8 gig card.

I have a related question - WHAT CASE or skin are you using for your FUZE. I am really struggling to find something I like that is also not a big and bulky pocket book like case.

Great blog! I had a quick question. I also have a htc fuze. how do you make blog posts with it. I am a wordpress blogger, but wondered if there was a program that can help with blogging on my fuze! Thanks!

in HTC FUZE Video 1st Look from Mobilitysite on Mobilitysite
I just purchased one of these this week. While it is amazingly packed with features and programs, the preloaded AT&T crapprograms are maddening and you can not remove them.
I think the touch screen theme is VERY cool but it also creates some extra steps you can not skip because they are showing off the graphics (like when you go to check your emails I would love to go directly to the inbox, but have to see the animated mail letter first. It is cool the first time, but then just an extra step.). Also the touch flo theme does not allow you to remove the call log or calendar text on the home screen even if you do not want it. Those words remain on top of any background image. Finally the clock is nice but every time you touch it to have it add the date, it automatically opens the alarm screen, forcing you to click back to the home screen, again an extra step.

The sync program is great and quick, but I have gotten more use out of just attaching it to my PC and then moving around images and files manually through the actual files. when the phone is attahced to your computer it shows up like an external hard drive device and you can click on it and see all the files and manipulate them. That is the same as it was with my old Blackberry phones and it makes things much easier if you feel comfortable doing that on your own.

there seems to be a few very popular 3rd party sites with free apps you can add and I am going to be checking those out this weekend to see what i can add to the phone.

what I love is that you can expand the phone to 32 GIG of memory, which is massive. I have a 4 gig card in it now and over 700 songs, pics, etc.

so far, a great phone and I will figure out a way around the issues I mentioned above with some 3rd party apps I think.

thanks for the video you have. it was helpful in my research.

in Blackberry on The Eye
I am more then a slave to my Blackberry, it literally owns me day and night. I posted an article about this today on my blog. I am a slave in every sense of the world to my Curve and it is almost an actual part of me. I wonder when these phones will replace …. family!

Eyebee I don't make many phone calls. My Curve is really an extension of my computer. I use it for twitter, for some blog posting, for GTalk, and talking a few pictures here and there. It's the first thing I check in the morning, after I wake up, and the last thing at night, before I go to sleep. I do turn the ringer off at night though, and my twitter SMS goes silent from 11pm to 7am.

I would be shocked if Sprint/Nextel is not purchased by AT&T or Verizon in the near future. the customer service sucks. The phone selection for Nextel sucks and their coverage seems to be getting worse and worse. They suck.

in What The Scientists Have To Say on Politics After 50. It's Never Too Late To Get Pissed Off.
I have to say that I don't care about what the big brain farts have to say. Just because they score higher on standardized tests and can analyze this or that with big fancy words, does not mean that they know dog poop about anything.
I would much rather get the opinions of rappers, actors, actresses and TV stars. They REALLY know what is going on and speak for the people!!!!!!!

Omyword! haha! I like the idea of hearing from rappers et al. And, I think because I am soooo anti-creationism and anti-fundamentalist, I like to see the scientists speaking up, after being so suppressed by the Bush/Cheney regime for the last 8 years. I have been reading that the government science and environment reports have been tainted by this administration to limit any talk about global warming etc., so it is good that the usually quiet nerdy guys get to have their say.

if you can indirectly make people interested and read and still drive them to your site, you are actually creating a much more powerful link because it will attract people who normally would never have found you. It is a very positive way to promote.

in Cow Question - Is it Ethical, Is it Right? on John Cow dot COM
I would think that someone buying ANYTHING would study closely the business/site/blog and review all of these factors BEFORE buying. If concerned you could easily write up a contingency agreement that returns the money to the purchaser if there is proof of misleading information. this would have to be clearly written up in advance and agreed upon by both parties. the sale money held in escrow for X amount of time and until everything could be verified.

Off line long legal contracts are written to protect both buyer and seller of businesses. why would it be any different online, unless you are are "rolling the dice" and then it is on you to take the chance and live with the consequences.....

I HATE Dr. Phil, but it is one hour on TV. I can easily waste 10 HOURS reading blogs like the ones you mentioned. It comes down to time management, lol. If you want to watch a self absorbed pompous know it all guy, you watch Dr Phil. You want to read about real people and real life from real people you look for quality blogs.

I was doing exactly what you speak of and getting no where. I would start 10 projects and never get any of them really rolling and to their true potential. What made me stand up and take notice was I would NEVER operate like this in my offline professional life, where what has made me successful was originating and initiating successful promotions from beginning to end and seeing them through. So i took a step back and decided to employ the same gameplan for my online life. For example the current project I am working on I have a 2 month development plan before I launch it or even reveal it publicly. That way I have done my homework and am truly prepared to give the project the 100% effort it deserves.
That is the biggest mistake I see people making. they are working on 20 different online projects at once and none are really "home run" ideas and all suffer. Really mapping out a well thought out game plan outline for action is the way to go with any project you start IMO.

in Shut Up and get to work on John Cow dot COM
Steve, you and I are looking at it all differently because we own businesses. We work harder then others because our responsibilities are different in the overall equation. What I would give for 2 or 3 "mini mes" from the days I was coming up and working hard to be successful. I would be willing to give them the "keys to the castle", but I just can't seem to find them these days. That is the frustrating part. It is not treating them like "numbers" it is producing. I dont care what the situation is as an employee you MUST produce and do your job to the fullest. But most employees fall short. This IS NOT a bitch session about employees because it is what it is in today's world. it has become the norm to underachieve while still expecting to be moved up and promoted. that is the problem. The acceptance of this attitude.

in Shut Up and get to work on John Cow dot COM
great post. You are talking about one of the biggest issues/problems in the past 20-30 years with people. As an employer (I run 2 companies with around 100 total employees) we see it every single day. People just DO NOT want to work hard. There is very little pride in anyone's work and it is incredible how many people are just "punching the clock" each day and watching their watch to see how many minutes there are until their next smoke break, lunch break, or excuse to go to the bathroom. And if you are lucky enough to find one, just one person who does show pride and does work hard and does overachieve, it is typically only a short time before they are demotivated by the sub par and substandard efforts of others around them which results in them having to alway do extra work to cover/carry everyone else.
And your example about the restaurant is maddening to me. There ARE TONS AND TONS of jobs available. the attitude that jobs are "below" them is sickening and disgusting. If I was to lose my job tomorrow I would work at a gas station, then a supermarket and then a restaurant - 3 shifts if I had to, just to get by. i would live in a small apartment and do whatever it took to survive. The younger generation today wants it all handed to them. They dont want to work. They want to start at the top instead of working their way up. They feel "entitled" to this advancement and position without any justification. it makes me sick.
I could go on and on, but I have to go back to doing the work others did poorly just to make sure it all gets done. Sad, just sad.

in Skribit Social Suggestions - Might be cool on John Cow dot COM
It is interesting, but I think only effective on a site like this with a lot of people participating. If you blog is new and no one offers suggestions or votes, then it can be something that makes your site look slow or unread. But on a busy site I think it is a great idea.
