As a New Yorker I too have limited options (basically just Verizon DSL and TimeWarner Cable). As a European who's seen the effects of government-enforced competition (France, UK, Italy) ie lower prices, innovation (google IIiad and the Freebox or go to http://tinyurl.com/r8go5), when will the FCC comes to it senses and mandate the incumbents to resell access to allow competition everywhere ? We had great success with our branded app for Virgin Mobile France. The folks at BuddyMedia are pulling some interesting clients who build a new engagement tool for their brand followers. The average 26 minutes/day spent by facebook users are testament to it becoming part of the daily routine and therefore advertising and brand engagement will follow.
