Probably a bit late for me to comment, but I totally feel exactly what you said in your last para. Words that people don't mean but blurt out anyway made me hang onto them for days or weeks before I finally forget about it altogether.

I missed Mr Chin and Pearlly (she loved to pronounce her name clearly to us), both were my English/Drama teachers at their centre in Taipan USJ like almost 7-8 years ago. Those were the days.

eh you were under him as well?? i'm not sure how many centres he opened lah, but the one at Taipan was called uh.. WCL. World Centre of Learning. or something like that hehe.

yeah he was quiteee the cool guy :D though i was somewhat of a lazy ass so quite dreaded Sunday mornings when all of us are supposed to be sleeping.

probably quite unrelated to this entry, but do you bring your laptop everywhere? I've never actually found the perfect opportunity to utilise mine in WiFi-enabled places, to surf the net, check e-mails etc, least of all to blog. :p

lots of friends told me that oreo mcflurry is better than m&m's. I tried oreo recently.. somehow i prefer m&m's more.

i want to backpack in europe too!! but have to start somewhere near i guess.. maybe thailand. or cambodia. myanmar. vietnam.

nah not chenchow :P saw the manifest of 400 people going.. some from Harvard and Oxford and passed Mensa and goes for skydiving and fluent in Japanese and stuffs like that it's really a bit depressing if I go lol.. which makes you really smart too seeing the amount of accolades that you have.

even if I wanted to go it was a bit too late, deadline was last week or something and I only found out about it last two days. though my hero Datuk Tony Fernandez is going to give a speech or something.

i think you echoed many of our sentiments. :) precisely why i don't visit these 'celeb' blogs anymore, prefer to visit my friends' blogs instead - even if they don't write well. because isn't that what blog is originally about, writing about your personal experiences, anecdotes.. all to catch up on each other's lives.

that's awfully scary when you hear so many.. thefts and robberies occurring in a span of 2 weeks. my dad was recently robbed at parang-point, and another friend had an unfortunate run-in with snatch thieves.

it's so common that it's really scary.

sorry for your loss su ann.. i know if i were to lose my stuffs to thieves/robbers, i'd mope around for a few days.

sigh i missed the whole chatuchak madness on sunday. :( apparently chatuchak is truly 'open' on weekends only if i recall what my bangkok host told me correctly. is that true?

my friend and i went there the next day (monday), but there weren't that many shops that were open. i guess maybe next time :P

i identify with you exactly.. sometimes when i want to write things for myself (ever since i ditched the diary) about personal things, i find myself self-censoring my own words to the point that it's too vague to be understood by anyone else. and i've learned it's too risky to expose your 'weakness' online or anywhere else for that matter.. people - spiteful people - will just use it against you.

@coffee: You have to download it elsewhere yourself.

I have a problem that I encountered with this plugin. After installing it, I go to the page "Manage Smilies" and edit the 'What to type' fields accordingly, such as /shy, /ke, etc according to the smilies.

I have posted the appropriate code into my comments.php file, and the smilies do load. Clicking on them also generate the appropriate text (like the ones I have defined, such as /shy, /ke, etc).

However, after clicking Add Comment, the comment does not automatically include the image of the smiley. Assuming that I have used the /shy smiley, what is in the comment was literally just the text /shy without the image concerned.

Any ideas how to rectify this?
