in Why are they all black? on Elliott Back's Blog
Being homeless can put a damper on a large number of possiblities - possibilities we see happening everyday. 'Regular' people getting lucky with life, and believing that one day they too will be the next 'Google' or maybe just a few million instead of billions. We are the new generation, raised by 'self-esteem' freeks (our parents) - people who grew up in a time (the 80s) where if you had a bad negative attitude, you were definately surely going to not be successful. Being homeless is not really acceptable. You can throw yourself into debt, work a fulltime job, and have more money than the average American, and while you're doing that, you can hope to get lucky, have your big project come through, your little hobby become the next 'pet rock', your new idea become the foundation for what most people do on saturday nights.

Very good post!

in American children aren’t children — Elliott C. Back on Elliott Back's Blog
Yeah. Because damn well they are trying to take childhood away. Maybe that's one of the things that's never exisited, but us Americans always believed in: childhood. School starts closer together, requiring more and more time but requiring less and less actual thinking, the whole American School system is doomed. Learning isn't what school is about. School is about brainwashing people to be sheep, so they don't become voters, so they don't start thinking for themselves.

Yes, me and "Lil' Bow Wow" were born in the same year. Amazing.

I'm having problems with Gravatar today too. I think they are doing something with their server or something.

in Bold Claims for Windows Vista — Elliott C. Back on Elliott Back's Blog
Actually I think it'd be a good thing if they set the minimum system requirements very high on this - it'd spur on the desktop computer industry and more people would have up to date computers - which would mean less zombie windows 98 computers shovling spam and spyware faster than the old grandma who owns it can walk.

I think setting the min. RAM requirement at 1 GB and the min. Processesor req. at 2 Ghz would ensure that they get the results they want. And everyone would need to stop holding off on buying new computer - they'd actually have to go out and replace that original Dell Pentium 1 box they've been using (complaining) about.

in Photo Retouching — Elliott C. Back on Elliott Back's Blog
I think the best photo retouching is where you can't notice that it's been retouched. Where it leaves you thinking, "Whoa - how did they take that?"

Anyway - that's my 2 cents. Great job on the eyes tho.
