My take is that is exactly what a "futurologist" is - they are a blue sky, wishfull thinking person, one with no boundaries or constraints.

An analyst, looks at the existing and determines requirements.

Me, well I'm a product strategist and if I'm reading your post correctly would fit more into the role you envisage for a futurologist. My role is to look at the world around and find tech fit (or define a need for new tech).

Some lovely new phones and the website overhaul is pretty sweet to.

BUT

And it's a big but...

There is no way on this planet I will be buying another i-mate device as their after sales support is terrible. The whole fiasco over the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade has seriously dented i-mate's reputation as a company who actually gives a stuff about it's customers - They are a company who is driven by selling you a product and then abandoning you to pursue the sale of a new product line.

Sorry. Lovely phones but not for me.

Good effort (again). I'd have to agree in the most part that the new OS seems way more consumer friendly. That 'polish' has given my N800 a new lease of life for sure.

The other thing I wish they had rolled in would have been a configurable RSS scroller for the homepage. If you have any where near as many feeds as I do it would be handy to be able to select just one as the scroller.

Other than that mostly the finger friendly bits are a great improvement so good on Nokia for listening.

Mine didn't come with Spidey3 but out of the box my menu's were a damn sight more responsive than yours.

Oh easily 50 a month. Nah seriously I can't have an SMS bundle on my plan (calls and data). That said my txt'ing is sooo bad I'm sure BlueText would help me out no end (and maybe stop my missus laughing every time she sees me trying to figure out a word).

That aerial. Silly looking - oh yes. Potentially very useful - still oh yes.

I wonder if it would work with an N800 tablet. There it wouldn't look half as daft and would actually solve a real problem.

Personally I prefer Handy Safe on the phone, if for no other reason than it has a Windows application which syncs and allows for big screen editing.

Other than that they are much the same.
