No problem, David! It's one of the best books on online marketing I've read in a while. Full of great advice on how to market your business (or cause) in cost-effective ways by reaching your audiences where they are with the content they are looking for...

Holy cow Chris. Like @KevinMGreen I'm wondering about the facial hair. Does that go too? And have you told the kids about it? You'd scare the hell out of them if you didn't

Sure as hell beats writing brochures and hiring tele-marketers. I love the freedom and as you say, it's fun.

Love the video book reviews Chris. Yes, both these books are terrific, but I find myself not paying too much attention to written reviews these days. The video format works great.

in How Do Campers and Parents Find Your Summer Camp? The New Rules of Marketing & PR - David Meerman Scott on The Camp Director
Wow. Thanks for writing about my ideas here. I really appreciate it.
Summer camps are perfect for the sorts of strategies that I talk about and that HubSpot helps implement.
Imagine a parent going to Google and starting a search for, say, "canoeing camp in New England" (which I recently did). If that describes your camp, why didn't I find you?
The good news is you can fix that and be found by people looking for you.
Best,
David

Great list Chris. Someone I just discovered who has been writing amazing stuff but is not well known (yet) is David Henderson http://www.davidhenderson.com/ Former CBS News national correspondent turned marketer. His book which came out this week is called The Media Savvy Leader. Buy it. Read it.

in Random Thoughts: RSS Feeds and Book Introductions on Ad Your Comment Here
The book biz is very traditional. You do introductions because, well, you do introductions. I actually like reading them but maybe that's because I am an author. You can always skip them in the printed book (unlike the audio book version).
Anyway, hope you like the "meat" of my book.

Cool post. You're lucky that (for now) you're the most famous dude with your name.
But you're never safe. What happens when some kid whose a great guitarist and starts a band or an awesome quarterback from some college shares your name?

Could I borrow "Meerman" and use it as my middle name should that scenario occur? :)

in When Your Blog is a Grand Stage on Chris Brogan
Great post, Chris. As someone who delivers about 100 speeches a year and writes about 100 blog posts a year, I totally agree with this idea.
When I speak, I focus on three things in equal amounts: 1) Entertainment 2) Education and 3) Motivation. The same is true of blog posts.
