Bring on the ads if we get QOS in the trade.

My goodness, but this is going to bring out the trolls, though..

Re: Changing your default browser

You can also do this without having to start Safari (just in case starting Safari REALLY bugs you).

In Firefox:
Go to Firefox Menu -> Preferences
Then, in the main tab, click the "Check now" button at the very bottom. If Firefox isn't the current default browser, you'll be prompted to make it so.

In times gone by in OSX, you could also use the internet preferences pane in System Pref's, but that's gone now.

Re: If Twitter Were An Airline…

Aw, that's not fair... To JetBlue. They at least have the sense to charge for "extras" (like food, :P).

Re: Bloggers + Apple = Techmeme Echo Chamber

Wow. Most humbled to be quoted. I'm fairly sure that's a first. I'm not sure what that says about either of us ;)

I was, of course, kidding.. Well, mostly. My own, rather pointless, experience with blogging though is where that sentiment mainly originates. So many times I've thought about blogging about a particular topic, only to find that my point of view is being fairly ably demonstrated in an existing post (or, as in this case, I can happily express my POV through a comment on an existing post).

I agree that GOOD bloggers do try and find a unique angle / rant / etc, but I think there are more than a few who just bring the echo, and that we'd be better off without the noise.

Your last paragraph sums up a lot of it, I think..

"Unless, of course, the only aim is to get onto Techmeme in the first place"

Ahem ;)

Great post! If I was the sort of person who used a feed aggregator, you'd SO be in it now.

Re: 2008/05/23/5-friendfeed-rooms-to-get-the-party-started/

Hey! Thanks so much for the mention of the twitterusers room. It's sent a lot of traffic to the room, which I'm obviously grateful for. The more people there to talk about twitter, the less alone we'll all feel when it's down.

I second what Sharon says -- to find rooms you like, start with people you like. I carried this idea over from the way I first started finding interesting people to follow on friendfeed, and it's worked really well.

Re: http://gary.tumblr.com/post/78889656

You rant good, GV! Preach on, brother! Testify!

This does not bode well for my impending move to SF and purchase of an iPhone.. :|

Re: Twitter is definitely down, sorta

SO good to see this being talked about now. I've felt like the lone voice in the woods now for a couple of days. Hopefully that will help get you a few more entries :)
