I really appreciate it, since you have been a user for a long time and really come to understand how it works.

It is great to hear you have found new feeds through Toluu as that is one of the central goals, and you are totally right, the more feeds in the system the better it gets for everyone.

We have some new stuff in the works that I am really excited about and can't wait for you to see.

Caleb
Toluu

Re: Toluu Introduction Ends with Toodles

Thanks for the thoughtful review and thoughts on Toluu!

I am so glad you are enjoying Toluu so far, you really nailed it; having your friend's feeds right there is really what makes it so useful. We are still in our infancy and are blown away with the uptake already, we actually upgraded our server weeks ahead of schedule yesterday due to the demand!

The goal for the UI was to make it as simple as possible and get out of the way, the feeds and your friends are what are most important. So it is great to know you are digging it.

To one of your niggles, a super cool feature allows you to keep your Google Reader and Toluu in sync using our bookmarklet. On the bottom of the 'Import' page you can select Google Reader and you can use our bookmarklet, so when you add new feeds they will be added to Toluu and Google Reader at the same time. It is how I get most of my feeds into the site.

As you rightly point out, the matching algorithms are changing all the time esp now that we have so much more data to play with.

If anyone is looking to get an invite to the private beta please go to http://www.toluu.com/betainvite and we will get you an invite as soon as we can!

Toodles,
Caleb Elston
Founder Toluu

Re: Toluu Badge Widget

David, this is sooo cool. The site has been around for just a few days, is in very limited private beta, and you have created an amazing utility for fans of the service. Hats off to you.

When I saw that you did this I was so excited that you saw a way to help us improve the service for everyone. Please let me know if you have any other thoughts on ways we could improve Toluu.

Cheers,
Caleb
Toluu

Re: FriendFeed adds personalized recommendations. « My Thoughts On Social Media

Congrats on the new blog! I have found a couple new feeds I didn't know about because of the cleanup you have been doing, so thanks!

As you mention, we are still in private beta, so any suggestions or ideas are always welcome.

Caleb

Toluu

Re: Do you Toluu? As you mentioned, Toluu is not a feed reader replacement, it is simply a thin service that feeds your feed reader. Being able to see what other people are actually reading day in an day out is pretty cool. We are certainly open to all criticisms and feedback because Toluu exists because of our amazing users and their contributions.

If anyone would like an email please send me an email to caleb {at} toluu.com!

Caleb

Toluu

Re: Do you Toluu? So increasing your scale, getting more visitors and readers, is an important part of the equation. Spreading the word about your favorite blogs is a very powerful way to expand a particular blogs audience and, in turn, increase the potential value to advertisers.

Re: Toluu+Tags = A match made in heaven « My Thoughts On Social Media

Thanks for the write-up Mike! You really summed up the core features and some of our reasoning for creating it. We wanted a place to see what feeds our friends were reading and discover other interesting feeds based on the topics we already were reading about.

We are still in private beta working out the kinks and releasing new functionality to make it ready for a larger audience.

If you need more invites just let me know, I would be happy to have more of your readers join Toluu.

Caleb
Toluu

Re: Share OPML, Finally

Thanks for the great post Nils. It makes me so happy to hear you are finding the simplicity of the site attractive. We want to keep Toluu focused on helping you discover feeds and sharing them with people you care about. We put many constraints on ourselves about the features we roll out so that it doesn't become a mish-mash of features that are not really that useful. Sometimes less is better.

Re: Invite your friends to be Lijit!

Congrats on the new features guys, invites are nice and the thumbs from vimeo are really slick!
