The Fuller playground was highjacked from Fuller before the corpse was cold. The kids in the after school program are still upset that they don't have a place to play. What is going on at Fuller right now?? The School Committee and the Mayor have sat on the Fuller School since June and have not done anything with it. Why is nobody talking about that? Who is going to pay the heating bills on that building this winter? No revenue coming in because they can't lease out the offices without city council approval. Sam Park wanted to rent out the space but can't because the School Committee didn't do their homework and didn't know you can't lease out space for non-educaional purposes without rezoning and this takes the City Council to approve. The School Committee relies on the Mayor to hold their hands on everything but guess what she is busy being the MAYOR and can do the job the School Committee members were elected to do. Plum Cove deserves a lot of credit for taking advantage of the School Committee and the School Administration in getting the equipment. Can the proposed new charter school take over the Fuller building if it is still in the hands of the Schools? I hear they are going to call the new charter school the Sam Park School.........

how do you know whats going through the brain of a cop? unless you are one you don't and you sound like you are one just sticking up for yourself.

you act like all cops are saints just in it to do the right thing no matter what. well you are wrong. many cops get off on feeling like a tough guy with their badge on. some people are just bullies and i think being a cop draws allot of those types of people in to the field. the fact is you don't know why cops become cops. anyine can become a cop pretty much. what makes you think some jerks or psychopaths don't join the force?

2. like i said before i've dealt with salem pd. i was once harassed by the salem pd for being parked in the salem conveniance parking lot minding my own business. i was threatened, sweared at, and searched with with no cause.
3. the story has so much in it that seems very questionable. why would they need to beat him after tasering him? how does one sustain a broken hand?
4. this other story that has come out looks almost identical so it looks as if they do this kind of thing allot.

wow... it sounds like they have a routine set up for this kind of thing. this sounds exactly the same story that came out of this situation.

these cops are unbelievable. i pray that they lose their job because i don't want to fear the police when i go to salem because of corrupt officers like captain shawn patten(son of eagle tribune writer jim patten).

1. it wasn't a 5'1" 140 pound female officer so that point is moot.

2. he was NOT attacking them. they took him in a room sat him down and started punching him and beating him. 3 cops beating him, a defenseless teen. PATHETIC!

1. once they stop him they don't need to keep beating him.

2. he didn't do anything physical to the cops that they would even need to stop him from doing.

why don't we talk more about how eagle tribune writer jim patton is the father of captain shawn patten. it's easy to see how they let the salem police flat out lie about what happened.

think about it they beat a kid and now they know there will be repercussions. so they float this bs story to the tribune to cover their behinds. jim patten being the father of captain shawn patten(capt. shawn patten btw was one of the main people to beat down mr. getchell) probably was able to pull some strings to have the tribune put out this over the top article full of lies.

i found out today that he was actually tasered at the police department and im not sure if he was tasered at the rock as well

theres no proof that he was drunk mshoarty. its also illegal to use excessive force and even if the stuff printed in this story were true which it isn't they still used excessive force. the fact that 99% of what is in that story is false just makes it much much worse. so even if you believe the story you should be able to admit excessive force was used.

still no proof that he was drunk since there was no breathalizer test administered.

we don't know if he was cuffed or not because of how badly the article is worded. it says the cops were injured at the station and then goes on to say they were injured when they uncuffed him and thats when they tasered him. i know for a fact he was tasered at rockingham park not the station.
