The new FreddieFannie Hedge Fund ought to buy maple syrup futures.

I was in Vermont this weekend, the freakin' HOME of maple syrup. Since 6/28 there is a $1.25 charge for the first 3 oz of Vermont maple syrup at VT diners because the wholesale price of maple syrup has increased from $34/gal last year to $67/gal this year. At BJ's Wholesale the 48oz plastic jug @ $12.95 has been replaced with a 32oz jug @ $16.99.

Forget Iraq, we need to invade Canada to protect the US maple syrup industry. (sorry about the "invade Canada" stuff Howard.)

As Cramer would say, America used to be about making things. We hardly make stuff anymore, other than 787s. Online instant videos and Twitter, etc. are nothing more than toys for people who have too much time on their hands.

Even if they ever get monetized, they are no different than Grand Theft Auto 99 or Guitar Hero 55, or even iPhone G22. Toys ain't stuff, they are mere flotsam on the economic ocean. The US is doomed to a mediocre economic future because we outsourced our labor to the low bidder, hocked our bank account to the Arabs and Chinese and elected morons named Bush who left no idiot behind and forfeited our educational future. I would vomment this, but I can't sing.
