Bad service and bad business should have been weeded out by now in the current climate...alas, we come across it far more often than we find good, clean hospitality by people who enjoy their work. Makes me appreciate good service and good business all the more.

Absolutely. And those moments, when I'm on the receiving end, take me by surprise, bring me into the moment and yes, change my day. I used to pay the toll for the car behind me. FastTrak has changed that...and I had a woman pay for my coffee in the car line at Starbucks. Random Acts of kindness in general are humanizing and just downright very cool things to do. Appreciate the reminder, Chris.

If only we all had the sharp wit, humor and brains that Another Wine Blog has...
If only Mr. Heimoff had the wit, humor and brains you both have, at least his soft rant would have been entertaining. However, he makes a point that quality will rise to the top. (oh yeah, and a spell check...that would help too). Otherwise, I completely agree with Ms. Amy C. Power ...really beautifully written. Thank you for proving the best point of all...with quality, humor and style.

Too often! I sure wish these places had those little comment cards. I don't wish ANYONE to go out of business...however, with lame service, I'm not sure how one would expect to be successful in ANY economic climate.

Thanks, Man! I laughed out loud appreciating the perspective. Agreed that SOOO many were left off nominations and categories: may I add 1WineDude, WannaBeWino, Luscious Lushes's, BrixChicks, The Able Grape, Anything But Wine...Humanitas Drink Charitably Blog, My Daily Wine, DirtySouthWine, Goosecross, oh SOOOO many I can't get them all in...and I will curse myself for the ones I forgot here...oh! OF COURSE...Another Wine Blog...f*ck!

I did ask about "Best New Wine Blog" on twitter: Mr. Wark had the decency to answer both on twitter AND on WineBizRadio (ALSO should have been nominated!)...something about too much work, logistics of sorting through qualified blogs, judges time, blah, blah, blah.

Ok, so what did we decide? More categories, better criteria, more finalists, more nudity and ...more wine. Did that cover it? Are you listening OWC? Good grief, give credit where credit is due...yes, I'll step up if you need help!

Too many darn wine blogs going without recognition!

And your INCLUSIVE, (not exclusive) attitude is organically in sync with the new media paradigm. Your accessible style and attitude in the way you talk about wine is also espoused by 2007 Beard Nominee, Wine Director, Brian Duncan from Chicago's Bin 36. You are in great company!

Ok, this may do us in! I live about 15 minutes from the Gloria Ferrer winery...and, being an avid Trojan fan, I totally appreciate ANY TIME Michigan gets beat! Really, Really...almost as much as UCLA, Notre Dame, & Ohio State. (can I still be your hero!)
