I suspect that most well-informed Democrats as well as the larger pool of progressives would find the sources you've cited to be questionable.

The book in question is a case AGAINST Obama, on the face of it, for starters, not a neutral tome that seeks the truth but rather acts with an open bias. No one reading it or reading approving comments left by alleged readers can reasonably think they are getting a dispassionate and thorough examination of the truth.

"Stop The ACLU" organization and website is just that, an organization that takes issue with a group which has dedicated itself to the protection of civil rights (no matter the ideology of those whose rights have been threatened). Why would reasonable Democrats or progressives seek the opinion of an organization that actively resists protections of civil rights?

The editorial at Investors' Business Daily -- considered by most rational progressives to be one of the furthest points from liberal thought and more often the home of neo-conservatism -- is inflammatory and biased, actually labeling Obama campaign organizing "communist"; is their problem really with Obama, or with Alinsky, or with something else? is the real issue that Alinsky's "rules" about organizing citizens using grassroots methodology effective when compared to top-down centrally-controlled campaigning? Most real Democrats would take issue with critiques of populist efforts to rouse voters through the grassroots.

Nor is Rev. Sun Myung Moon-owned Washington Times an unbiased outlet -- and again, most real Democrats would take issue with work from that outlet being cited as a credible source, free of ideological bent.

Readers would do well to consider a broader horizon of inquiry rather than the sources cited in the comment above, keeping in mind that commenters at this site, at other blogs, and at commercial sites like Amazon have agendas and may be "sock puppets" as well.

As a registered Democrat. I didn't really know enough about Sen. Obama to make an educated decision as to why I should cast my vote for him, which lead me to conduct my own research to find out more about who he really was, where he came from and, even more important, what he stands for.

After reading the following Amazon.Com Editorial Review and numerous other resources, as a means of educating myself prior to casting my vote, I became concerned about casting my vote for him.
