I think Nick realizes that I am the one :), I think he replied to your comment because there was no comment box at the bottom. I have to change to Disqus settings to show the comment box after the comments- this way there will be no confusion.

I am yet to be served the papers. This last threat was issued by ePerks on 21st. I am not sure how long does it take to file a suit in CA. But I keep every one update on the situation.

Wayne sums this up pretty clearly. I really can't understand what grounds they are suing you for.

I, along with most people, would not trust a company who choose these actions over investing their time in fixing the real source of the problem, which is clearly ePerks. Good luck and keep us posted.

While I'm no authority in law, I've had former clients in a court for various reasons. And from what you said in your original article, I fail to see on what grounds ePerks are bringing litigation against you.

This is a prime example of social media in action — if someone is offering a poor quality service, it's highly likely that service (such that it is) is going to be aired on-line for all to see, as is the case here.

Might I suggest ePerks save the money they were going to spend on legal action and instead think of investing to improve their service by way of some brand / reputation management?

Which is the Microsoft many-to-many ecosystem all over again, and look at how that's showing its age these days.

Meanwhile, the numbers show how Apple is gaining market share on the desktop. Why? A few reasons, really, not least the quality of their products.

But the main reason is that when an Apple product needs support, you just call Apple. And when you're looking at a product suitable for your needs, Apple will have maybe one or two models, not five, or six, or seven.

Sometimes too much choice is no choice at all.

It would be easy to extend the commenting from within WordPress — add a new table to the database that maps the parent-child relationship between the comments and then Disqus can save all of the other user-specific stuff to their own databases...

Hi Jason, as much as I like what Disqus offers, I'm not comfortable with the comments being stored elsewhere.

I appreciate your stance on the ownership of comments, but I'd be much happier knowing those comments were being stored with the rest of my 'blog.

They are saved on Disqus. If you ever need to migrate your commentsback, we will support that. This feature is currently on a private release of the plugin as we are working to scale migrations (backwards and forwards) with Disqus.

I've enabled that option for now. So the next question is, when people add comments to one of my 'blog articles, where are the comments saved to?

Are they still saved to my 'blog, or does Disqus save them?
