I suspect the recession has reduced Blyk's ad revenue to the point they had cut their costs. So they have essentially halved the value and cost ot the free Blyk services.

Incidentally, did Blyk's price for data change or is it still 99p/MB? 99p is steep but I doubt they would cut it as they are raising the voice rate. It's probably easy for them to cut the price of SMS as it essentially costs nothing to carry on a network. Voice and data have real costs

It appears that Google has eliminated the iPhone specific version of iGoogle and is redirecting iPhones to the generic mobile version.

This indeed a horible problem. One of my sites, yeswap.com, a simple mobile portal has been blocked by Verizon's family filter for the last six months.

The site has never contained anything the least bit questionable nor has it ever linked to any adult, dating, chat or gambling sites. I don't accept advertising for these types of content either. There is nothing unsuitable for minors on the site at all.

I haven't been able to find anyone at Verizon who admits to knowing anything about the family filter or whitelisting. The carrier doesn't seem to have any contact person for unafiliated content providers at all. If you aren't customer or "partner" you don't exist. as far as Verizon's concerned.

I tried it and it is so limited. The requirement to add videos to your favorites in advance and the need to login to watch content on mobile that is open to all on the full web just kills it for me.

MySpace needs to follow YouTube's example and use browser detection to automatically serve mobile video content to mobile browsers from any MySpace video URL.

This is a great idea. I just tried it with m.wapreview.com though and it doesn't seem to work, just redirects to the mowser.com home page. I'm using 1and1 shared hosting and I can't directly twiddle the CName so I don't know what 1and1 has screwed up. Here are the headers if you feel like investigating further.
