The pubic is expected to do nothing. We can't just put people on trains and melt them down form the gold in their teeth. Duh. There has to be a justification for the exploitation. We're not animals, good gravy.

I have an idea on how to fund a community project or public service, that crystallized for me through my use of bit torrent; contribution share ratio. The idea is to provide the contributions context. The way things are today, you could contribute ten bucks or a thousand and it's all just a shot in the dark. Communication is fundamental to community. The project has $X dollars of costs and Y number of community members where X/Y equals a 1:1 share ratio. What that does is, first, gives people a starting point for getting involved, people who might otherwise do nothing because they have no idea what to do-which if you have a bag over your head it's hard to tell, isn't it. Secondly it opens the door for people to do more. I might contribute $20 bucks to my favorite community project, and that might be it, forever, because I have no idea what the costs are or what's going on. With some sort of feedback, you know where things are and it opens the door to getting involved, doing more, being empowered.

Re: Colorado volunteers get a chance to meet Obama

If we the people are going to play this game where winning is everything, then how can we expect our reps to do any different? Come on, Nancy, don't let these guys roll over our democracy, that's not what we want. Barrack, you too. That's the power that we the people have, and we need to start using it-don't reward anything less then that with a vote. If winning is everything then all you homeless people need to shut up and all you people without jobs need to quit whining. Our constitution is not about winning. I like Nancy and I like Barack and you couldn't pay me to spend time with McCain, but does Barrack have a glass or two of wine when he comes home to his wife? If Barrack is not being real at home, it almost makes McCain look honest in comparison. That's a question I have. But either way, our Nation has a huge problems and even if Barack could get monkeys to fly out of his but, he's not gong to solve that central issue of our Democracy. We need to be brave and make a stand, that's the solution. If the new Congress had told Bush from the start to sit down and shut up or the Congress would not even be considering any requests; then I bet most of what's happened since would not have gone down this way because Bush would have sat down and shut up because his party would have demanded it and then he would have had to come face to face with the truth, that he has zero power, that he's there to do the will of the people and when the people say sit down and shut up, you will do that. That's how we get our voices heard. If we're just going to keep playing this game, then we have nothing to complain about.

There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!

When criminals in this world appear
And break the laws that they should fear
And frighten all who see or hear
The cry goes up both far and near
For Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

Speed of lightning, roar of thunder
Fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

When in this world the headlines read
Of those whose hearts are filled with greed
Who rob and steal from those who need
To right this wrong with blinding speed
Goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

Speed of lightning, roar of thunder
Fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

Thanks independent for this opportunity. Consider implementing a contribution share ratio that gives context to our contributions and empowers the community to get involved and to do more. That ought to cool things down at the prison....right? Sort of a new perspective on the term flamer.

Too much drinking and not enough thinking in our society. If men were honest with their wives about their feelings, rather then using alcohol as a means of stomaching the frustration that comes of living with a women who drives you up the wall, then maybe there wouldn't be a need for institutionalized abuse or torture.

I think the more we talk about the role that alcohol plays in all this the more people will start behaving like human beings, and we need to provide for such men an alternative to going along to get along, other then living in the street without any dignity. We can have women hiding away in their feelings of love, their drug of denial, and we can have men hiding away in alcohol, but we don't want to force those two into the same house because it's going to create a ton of conflict and toxic emotional wastes with the rest of us sort of caught in the middle or in some cases a cage.

http://play.napster.com/track/22415563

"And if you should meet your maker, just pray that e' won't yell, "One more for the road!
