Every time I drive by Pier 1 I feel sorry for it like it's a lost puppy. Doesn't know the big dogs have been on its tail so long they've run past. The last time I went to buy something at BBB they had me go on their computer to order the item online.

I went to Soul Yoga for the first time today. When I looked at their website, I thought if place is anything like the website it'll be amazing. It was! It's beautiful. The yoga studio is comforting, with both a water and fire feature. They supply the mats, towels and water. They offer many services like massage, facials and classes. It's my new favorite place.

Require property owners to pay mandatory “relocation payments” of 6 months of market-rate rent to a tenant ANY TIME a tenant is asked to leave an apartment, home, or other residential rental unit, except for non-payment of rent or a criminal act

FOR EXAMPLE: If a tenant unintentionally flooded a home, apartment, or condo, the owner would be responsible for paying the tenant 6 months of market-rate rent if the tenant had to move for repairs

Trigger mandatory “relocation payments” of 6 months of market-rate rent if a landlord raised rent by 10% or more and the tenant chose to leave

Effectively, this measure is RENT CONTROL, JUST CAUSE EVICTION, and MANDATORY (6 MONTH MARKET-RATE) RELOCATION PAYMENTS all in a single measure

I should have clarified to say that generally when people are rude, I ignore them. But if they're saying that, they're usually saying a lot of other insensitive things too; I have a limit on what I'll put up with. Another version is when people comment on how much I've eaten. "You eat like a bird." Or "Look, you finished your plate." People are goofballs. You're so right, they don't realize.

Such a well-written article; thoughtful and compassionate. I just realized I haven't been told I'm too sensitive in a long time. I don't think it's all because of healing or growth. I cut people out. Anybody that is rude enough to say that to me doesn't belong in my life. My sensitivity makes me who I am. I realized early in adulthood that I could make that choice about anyone, especially family. I've been studying Buddhism for seven years. One of the most important things I've learned is that everyone you look at is a reflection of you. They're showing you who you are or who you used to be. When someone is rude, I stop and say "Whoa, I'd better think about that. Was that me then or is that me now? Do I need to work on something?" I appreciate everyone for your heartfelt comments as well; it's so important to be vocal and get these topics out of the dark.

Another realtor chirping in here. I didn't see that equity during the same period was included as a consideration. Maybe I just missed it but it seems like it's not a complete study if it only compares rental price to purchase price. There's also no consideration given for the tax benefits of paying a mortgage which can be a significant amount of money. Home ownership is definitely not for everyone in every situation but there is more to this story.
