No, there hasn't been 18 school shootings this year. There have been three and that's disturbing enough. When everything is a school shooting then nothing is a school shooting.

It could also be that this girl was just another copycat. A lot of these kids are fans of school shootings, particularly Columbine, and want to emulate their 'heroes'. Sometimes for no other reason than they think they were cute. To me, the hero worship of these reprehensible killers is a clear indication that mental healthcare is needed. Unfortunately too many parents think it's either a phase or that by getting mental help for their kids it somehow makes the parents failures. In my opinion , someone not getting their kids help for something like this makes them a failure.

First off Mare, thank you so much for commenting. It seems like no one wants to leave social media these days.

Secondly I agree. If she would have been male she probably would have gotten a tougher sentence. However, do you think she would have received a lesser sentence if she was a juvenile charged as an adult?

Many years ago at a small indy fed in NC my son and I were watching this heel give a promo and called himself "The Champion of Champions". My son and I started calling him The Breakfast of Champions and every time he said Champion we said 'Breakfast' and he totally played into it. Awesome moment for me and my son.

Didn't care for this arc at all. Didn't care for the writing/ Didn't care for the villain. Didn't care for Blindspot. It was almost Shadowland bad. I felt the writing undid all the good that Mark Waid did for the character of Daredevil.

I would imagine that the new direction has everything to do with the TV show. Mark Waid's run was the antithesis of the show. Marvel and Disney probably don't want to have viewers see this gritty street tough hero and then have him swinging above San Francisco in a red business suit in the comics.
