Last Summer, I watched a guy jump across a yellow-lit intersection to catch his bus.

- An otherwise reasonable individual, the Pedestrian Commuter was anxious to get to work on time.
- An otherwise reasonable individual, the Driving Commuter who hit him as she blew through the yellow light...
... knocked him 4 metres in the air & threw him across the intersection, where he slid along the rails & concrete & buffed chunks of skin off his crunchy body...

Through the popped & shattered car windows you could still hear the Driver's horrified screaming.

Relying on a somewhat acrobatic logical & legal gymnastic only vaguely validated by the particulars, she threw the case out.

In her gorgeous French accent she posited, "... we cannot be sure that the man who was observed on the road was the same man who was found by the officer several hours later in the hospital bed... "
