Not a very good showing for America's Toughest Jobs. You would have thought a bigger crowd would have sampled it with a Deal or No Deal leadin and a good olympics powerd push promotion.

These numbers by CBS are close to pre-Olympics levels.
At minimum, Flashpoint should get a 2nd summer renewal, if not a possible midseason order.

The olympics should hover around the 22-26 million range for the remainder of the olympics, outside the closing ceremonies.

Big Brother had done very well against the Olympics, not skipping a beat.

What were the numbers for NBC for the 11pm - 11:30 half hour? Did the half hour even count since they were commercial free for 45 minutes, starting at 11pm?

I fully expect the Olympics to to draw 40 million + for the half hour that Phelps is swimming tonight. After that, The Olympics will start dipping down to the low to mid 20 M in total viewers for the last week of the games.

CBS seems to be doing the best, among the other nets, in attacting viewers against the all-powerfull Olympic games.

I saw an episode of Firefly and thought it was pretty horrible. Summers acting is OK/average. Nothing special.

I have to agree with cylon that Lena Headey IS the best thing about the series.

The Womens Gymnastics quest for gold kept the viewers up late.

I am very surprised at Two and A Half Men's ratings. I had the under all the way. I thought if it could get 6 million, it would have done well.

Terminator: SCC's fate is not dependent on what it will be pulling for repeats during the Olympics. Not may will care to watch a repeat over a BIG event that is around only once every 4 years.

Terminator should do OK, but a lot will depend on how well those first few episodes are done and the storylines developed. Hopefully, it will have done the right re-tooling needed to get about 8-9 milllion viewers, on average, and pull near a 3 in the demo. If it does, it will get another season.

TBS is the worse at this currently. It seems like their popups take about 25% of the screen.

Personally, they (the networks) should sell a corner to a products logo, similar in size as the current network watermark logo. If it keeps TV free, I'm OK with it.

No, the Womens Gymnastics was taped for USA Primtime broadcast. The Announcers said a few times that it was Sunday Afternoon (China Time), or close to 18 hours before the primetime window.

When NBC is live, you will see the LIVE graphic next to the NBC logo in the upper right of the screen.

In viewer numbers, it looks as if FOX was hurt the most.
The CW had its usual Horrible numbers. ABC is about even, but its not usually that strong to begin with, and CBS is mostly even to most recent Summer repeat Sundays.

Will you get numbers for the 11pm - 12pm hour?
I wouldn't be surprised if its close to or above 40 million. That Men's 4x100M relay was just Awsome!

Well, Saturdays are always so bad that it looks like the other nets we not really affected by the olympics. thier levels are roughly the same as every other Summer Saturday.

My theory is that on top of the Phelps and other stories, the setting of China is a big part of the draw.

In todays Womens road bike race, they featured them going through the Square and a large part in and around the Great Wall.

Plus it doesn't hurt (NBCU) that the economy is in a flux and more people are staying home for their entertainment.

Saturdays ratings were, I am sure, sparked by the LIVE coverage of the swimmong events, along with Phelps getting his first of a possible 8 gold medals.

BTW, Will we get any ratings for the NBC Daytime coverage and all the cable outlets coverage, on a daily basis?

Are you completely nuts??? How has NBC show ANY disrespect?
Now, I do agree that NO network "Deseves" its rating. They need to EARN them, and NBC did more than that with its opening ceremony presentation.

I think a large partof the ratings hike is the cultural difference. Aisia is still a lrge unknown to most americans. Personally, I thought it was the one of the most entertaining and enjoyable opening ceremonies I have seen. Watching the "History" of Chinese culture played out for the world was greatand the technology behind it was amazing!

The Olympic bug has bit me. NBCU is doing a good job with its presentation and having at least one network airing coverage at all times. Now that I have an HDTV, its even better to watch.

I fully expect the 17 night ratibgs average to be the highest since 96, perhaps even 92 games.
