The internet neither forgives, nor does it forget. I'm frustrated -- deeply so.

The game was a disappointment. Most of us tried to like it. But it certainly didn't turn out the way we wanted it to be. Now, guys like Bill might say that everyone disappointed in the game had 'unreasonable' expectations, but all we wanted from Hellgate was a good game, really. It wasn't.

I even turned down several lucrative offers to sell the website before Hellgate's launch because my colleagues and I wanted to dedicate ourselves to the community, to the game. In addition, we also thought we could eventually get a better deal where we'd have managed to retain total creative control over the development of the website.

When I go to my other website, HellgateGuru.com, and take a look at the population on the forums, a far cry from what it was during its heyday, or even several months after the game's release, it makes me feel a pang of regret. Years dedicated -- to this? What is Hellgate Guru but a monument to an epic failure?

That's pretty much how I feel about it.

Re: Shipment of Fail: Bill Roper Talks About Flagship

It's funny how they went ahead and launched a game with a completely messed up subscription model despite the fact that they had not enough content, and still don't. Guess who got screwed? The customers.

Re: Rocketboom Blog - Ants make a friendly little home in the scanner...

That is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time. The difficulty is in whether it looks good and allows the game to look playable.

Besides, if you read the interview carefully he states that there will for a matter of fact be light radius but only in some dungeons.
