I don't believe that race has anything to do with it other than to dispel a long held thought in the Black community that its not in "our" make-up to be serial killers. Something that the DC Sniper and Cleveland rapist have certainly disproved.

I don't know if they dispelled the myth. I really do believe if you look at the statistics White men far out weigh Black men as serial killers. I believe these two to be an aberration rather than the norm or even trend setters.

While I understand the logic, it just seems very unlikely that Hoover would have kept this a secret because of being afraid of being outed. Hoover's sexuality was the well-kept DC secret that everybody knew; and even the Kennedys couldn't touch him. I just find this news a tad bit too remarkable to believe. But, having said that, I guess I'd have to ask Bruce Perry "and your point is what?"

Well first he pretty much acknowledges that CNN gave him the boot by saying that he should focus on strategizing for change - or at least that's my interpretation. Seemed to be pretty p-oed, but still had enough gall to blast the current administration and the "direction" the country was going under this administration. You know how Dobbs is! So glad he's G-O-N-E!!!!

My Best Half asked the same question about how quickly the Sniper's sentence was carried out. And, I must agree that it did seem like it all went down pretty fast and may even raise a few eyebrows as it relates to race. But, this man scared everybody - even those of us who lived no where near his killing field at the time.

But remember, RiPPa, Timothy McVeigh was executed 2 years after his conviction (federal) while it took 6 years to execute Muhammad after his first conviction (state). SJP -- Considering the there was rumors about Hoover's own sexuality, I think they let sleeping dogs lie. I really did not know that Malcolm X had homosexual relationships in his early life. I guess the people fighting against Malcolm X and civil rights did not know or else they would have certainly tried to discredit him on the basis of his sexuality. This makes for very interesting debate.

I find this "new found" information remarkable as it seemed to completely elude the Hoover-goons, CIA, and every other covert spy-type information agency in the US. Just wonder how it got passed them; and I really wonder why they didn't leek it sooner. Just makes me wonder, why now?

I don't know if "somebody"can tell you why the President deserves the prize, but I do know that the Committee responsible for determining who receives it said: "The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons." Far be it from me to say that they were wrong in determining that the President of the United States is deserving of the award. But, like I said folks were pretty salty when MLK won it - so its pretty much par for the course.

religious intolerence is a form of bigotry, and specifically addressed in the Constitution.
so is poltical intolerence. this is shown by the tolerence we have in this country towards certain political ideas.
we can also cite examples of both bigoted thoughts in the world. The KKK and other white supremists are a couple of the best known examples of it here in this nation. bigotry knows no color or nationality either.
i always like to say " a bigot is one who is so afraid of another man's way of thinking that he will do anything to eliminate that thought because it is superior to his own."

then he smiles as he says, btw, this little post of yours and discussion was an inspiration to me for my latest post on my site called "politics of war and peace".
