The owners here are ignoring the addiction-factor of how their site is appealing in the first place..lol..

We addicts need our "fix" fast and furious. Asking us to wait for a bestowal of grace from an autocratic overlord [singular site administrator] is like asking a crack-addict to wait a week to get his next puff of his crackpipe...and that only a maybe.. Or like asking someone with super high-speed internet to go back to dialup willingly.. Ain't gonna happen.

We'll disappear to other sites and this site will lose it's ad revenues and become just another backwater political site with the occasional tumbleweed blowing through. Again, I believe you folks are vastly overestimating the value of your articles. No offense but talent is out there and just some of it is here. People will select an interactive venue over one that rules with an iron fist. The value in this site is and always was the comments to the articles and not the articles themselves. We come here for the back and forth. No more back and forth, then it's just a bunch of dime-a-dozen internet authors patting each other on the back and masturbating. No thanks..

Just calling it as I see it. Which will become a relic of the past here..

Look, the comments ARE the TMV. This place is popular only because of them. Don't flatter yourselves too much site people. There are hundreds of political chat sites that people will migrate away to with articles that are at least on par with the authors here. The entire purpose of TMV is to inspire commentary. Might I suggest a more intolerant banning process? Third offense and the poster is out for a week/month/year whatever.

And what exactly is offensive? How much do words really have the power to destroy? Words are just words and the people who read something here and become offended so easily are really the ones who are operating on the fringe.

Lord knows I've received enough harassment for my positions. Endless in fact at times. That's what I expect though since I know that my positions often challenge people to think more deeply than usual and when this happens, the denial systems kick in and "offense" is cited. The whole reason we challenge each other is to inspire deeper thinking.

What I do when I come across something that fringes on the totally absurd or someone on the attack is I IGNORE THE POST. It's amazing, the personal power involved in not-reading..lol..

Again, this just reeks of the leftist shut-down I personally experienced over at TalkLeft. For posts way more tame than the ones you see here, just merely surficially challenging the uberleft ilk, I was banned without notice or ceremony. The fringe right boards do EXACTLY the same thing. So the "moderate" voice no longer is. Goodbye advertising money. Have you run this by your advertisers yet? I bet not....This mistake is like Coca Cola deciding to discontinue its present formula and only offer non-carbonated cola from now on...

If the Supreme Court tries usurp Congress' right to provide for the general Welfare of the nation [what more qualifiying circumstance could there be than preserving life and limb for all to promote our collective vitality?] then it will be another set of grounds for impeachment...allowing Obama to nominate up to five new Justices.

It will be good in one way that they are challenging it because in doing so it will be set further in stone as to the general Welfare clause. Those defending the Bill will be forced to do exhaustive studies on how far-reaching not having to worry about bankruptcy due to illness will promote the fiscal viability of our nation. They think they're going to defeat it but what they're actually doing is adding the mordant to the dye vat to insure a permanent change in color, instead of removing what I'm sure they consider a "stain".

Yep, millions of homeowners are too big to fail. The amount of property value we're talking about, combined with the decline in value of neighboring homes in "shell-neighborhoods" amounts to more than the banks would've harmed this country if we let them fail. What's good for the goose is good for the gander..

Instead of bailing out the homeowners, we should encourage banks to cut their losses and still maintain income on what would otherwise be total loss and liability: empty and vandalized homes. Upon imminent foreclosure, the banks should switch the mortgage to "rent-to-own" at a reduced cost to the homeowners already on title. Allow the remainder to be accrued in a second lean on the house to be paid off should the home sell. House keeps more value than if vacated and upon the time the economy rebounds and without the across the board plummet in home values, the banks recoup their losses and the people get to stay in their homes.

I'm pretty certain millions of homes going vacant and derelict is a situation that is too big to fail..

The GOP have generously offered themselves up as ogres, demons of illness and bankruptcy for the majority of voters. If you do the big brave thing now, that image of them will become permanent. The dem strategists should bear in mind that an immediately-effective Public Option, via reconciliation, would give instant relief to a throbbing toothache that this nation has been experiencing for decades. All that would be needed this Fall would be a simple reminder that each and every GOP voted it down and therefore ANY GOP candidate will vote to overturn their precious remedy to the toothache. Any GOP candidate therefore will stand out as the boogey man poised to bring instant and unbearable pain back to millions, and financial ruin..

Financial ruin...that would not only rope in the left and center, it will bring in the group right of center who are now being "cleansed" from the GOP. *checks calculator*... That's a clear and overwhelming majority IMHO.

2. No public option so scores of them will get fired this Fall for failure. In case they hadn't checked the polls, VOTERS in the 80%-tile range wanted the public option. All that song and dance about how the GOP got to write some of the Bill is only going to kill their chances this Fall.

The GOP are consummate magicians who have long known how to turn cardboard surges into three-dimensional images to impart a certain punch behind what would otherwise be known in poker circles as "a bluff". Dems failed in not including the Public Option because it is what the People want and they didn't get it. There is no immediate enactment. So voters won't see anything really, truly, tangibly different by Fall [another gain for the GOP]. Voters go by their guts, by real visible and drastic changes that are hard to forget. Much better to remind them in the Fall that their beloved Public Option that is already in place will be taken away by the GOP than to promise them it will be delivered if they vote democratic. Voters [God love them] aren't in their majority the most trusting bunch when it comes to dems delivering on promises. If they could've got it done now but didn't, they're going to remember that. And all the promises in the world won't mean a thing as one Brown after another will be rebelliously installed just to send a message.

Yes, dumb people will cut off their own noses to spite their faces in the name of protest. And in this way, last night was a total victory for the GOP. Anything less than the Public Option enacted by this Fall and they knew full well the dems would suffer. They did put up a good show though. Whores know how to wiggle their hips and pout their lips, even when all they have on their mind is the money at the end of the night..

Public Option removes the private-premium mandate yoke from both small and large business, freeing up billions in capital to stimulate new hiring and growth in R & D and production. More GDP and the trade deficit gets lower. Small premiums allow the 30 million to pump billions annually into a pool. These people receive more and cheaper preventative care, no longer have to choose between paying the mortgage and health premiums and next thing you know, the housing industry gets a boost with more qualified homebuyers.

The benefit/cost ratio with the public option in place weighs in on the benefit side of this nation. We will regain our standing in the world again. [small fringe benefit there..lol..] And for all the reasons above, and this one that augments national security, passing healthcare reform is a wholly legitimate interpretation of the clause in the constitution allowing for passage of measures that provide for the general Welfare of the US as a whole. I can think of no other issue actually, given the expansive reach of the benefits of a Public Option, that attacks and brings around more area of failing general Welfare of this nation.

All the whining and tantrum over this affair has been simply to preserve a few dozen superrich and spoiled health pirates that have generated no GDP for trade and exist only to fatten their own bank accounts. We literally almost bargained away an entire nation for the greed and averice of a few spoiled men and women..

Now..while on the subject..moving on to the Cheneyco prosecutions...

Well the one case I witnessed I surmised it was the electric motor trying to overcome a lack of torque that was demanded of it at the time. The man was trying to back up a steepish drive in reverse and had to really step on it to get enough power for the car to begin moving. Once that powerband was hit, it took off like a rocket and he didn't have enough time to react before it slammed him backwards into a tree. Like I said, good thing it wasn't a kid. The school was just a few hundred feet away..

I think the nature of the problem is in using an electric vehicle. Those motors have funny power bands where they lug and then suddenly shoot off at a high speed. Toyota can't be blamed alone and other manufacturers of hybrid electric cars should take careful notice.

Are those the gay guys who employ sadism as an adjunct fetish? Yeah, I've never seen them. The only gays I've seen in conjunction with the military are either dykes or the effeminant type gay men. Maybe they could showcase this particular dual fetish "leather guys" and then we'd get a different view of how fit gay men are to engage in bloody warfare. Otherwise I'm inclined to use the only examples I've seen "paraded" in gay men who have left or were ousted from the military after advertising. And that is unanimously the effeminant gay men who I would suspect would lack the killer instinct so vital to troops in combat.

And this truth may not be likeable to some, but it's the reality nevertheless. Members of a platoon who aren't tapped into machismo and the kill instinct that most males have latent or active in their personas, will factually hesitate when it comes time to react without thinking. And that costs lives statistically. I wouldn't want one in my platoon just for that one reason alone.

Kindof a leap there. But I think the main thread is when you relax the standards for the military "machismo", you lose what the military is all about. Gay men are not known for their ferocity when compared to their hetero counterparts. In fact, many gay men flaunt overt femininity as part of their MO. I can see how allowing "girly men" into the ranks could affect the bravado and stab of what the military tries to do: harness male drive to violence in a controlled fashion.

There are exceptions I'm sure, but the overwhelming majority of gay men [those on the fronts] will have a more feminine affect than their hetero peers and this could actually and factually translate into weakness at a crucial moment.
