I also have Microsoft Defender scan my files periodically. In addition to the above I run a full scan by Adlice Software's Rogue Killer and a scan by ADWCleaner by Malwarebytes every week. ADWCleaner finds a lot of PUPs that Emsisoft can't see. Kaspersky has kept me malware-free for a year - barring 1 case which was detected by Rogue Killer - unlike Emsisoft which let in 2 infections in 3 months. I stopped using Emsisoft and used Kaspersky Free from then onwards. Microsolft Defender has been as good as useless compared to all other brands mentioned above.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson jets off to Barbados for a romantic break - Caribbean Herald

I'm just trying to remember Clarkson's last dealings with an Irish person... OK it gives you some extra social proof, and as such I guess that can't be a bad thing... But Facebook is, in essence, 'here today, gone tomorrow', exactly the same as MySpace, except it's far more commercialised.

My big problem is that I don't own Facebook, and there is only so much I can do on Facebook. I DO own my self-hosted WordPress website, however. - Isn't it a lot more important to be concentrating on building up my mailing list and getting traffic to there, than giving myself an ego-trip by accumulating Facebook 'likes'; which at the end of the day are fairly worthless and don't pay any bills? I mean yes it's all good building up a large fanbase on social media, but surely there are much more important things to think about?

Re: Why You Need to Approach Blogging Like a Business (Blogging Is NOT Art)

The thing is that this article appears to approach the matter with the same old approach: Write more, + link more + more SEO + guest-post more = more traffic = a business. The truth is that write more, + link more + more SEO + guest-post more = burnout. If you were a shop and you put all your effort into creating better displays, visiting other shops, and appearing in as many guidebooks as possible, it wouldn't mean you'd get more business. - You'd be spinning your wheels and going nowhere.

Re: Miley Cyrus goes topless in 'Adore You' artwork

Where are the Christians? I very much doubt it to be honest: Microsoft are doing their best to grab a decent share of the tablet-market, but as usual are falling behind and allowing competitors such as Apple to take a clear lead. At best they manage to copy Apple; industrial espionage a distinct possibility maybe? - But I think that whatever happens, Microsoft software will always have at least backwards-compatibility for desktop-computers.

Apple; there's more chance of Apple going totally-tablet in my humble opinion; but again I doubt it.

Re: Working Parts: The Computer Keyboard

"Central processor of your keyboard" may be somewhat excessive a term to use. As I understand it; it's a CMOS chip with a network of NAND gates and Schmitt-triggers (Did I spell that right?) that serves to de-bounce the keys and collectively accumulate the keystrokes (Does that sound right?) so that there's no need to have a wire for each key between the keyboard and the computer.

Re: Windows XP completes 11 years of success

Windows XP is probably the best operating system ever as far as handling 2D graphics is concerned. - Although Windows 7 & 8 with their advanced graphics-handling algorithms have the edge over XP as far as 3D graphics are concerned, (XP being limited to DX9, despite the capabilities of whatever graphics-card is installed.) XP still has the edge, even if only in terms of fractions of a second, in the amount of time taken to process 2D graphics for programs such as Microsoft Office and the like.

Re: Couldn’t Get Much Lighter: Katy Perry to Go Dark on Next Album

Katy's the kind of superstar who looks good in anything sexy: Personally I can't wait to witness her "dark side". :)

Re: Microsoft criticised for obscene dance act at conference

Whoever is making a big fuss about an innuendo-strewn act needs to get a life... The haters want to bring me down and vice-versa. - That's the way it is and there's nothing else I, or anybody else can do but live with it. - So give me the viral neggies; bring it on. - It's publicity for my brand either way.
