Wow, the ethics in blogging and especially dealing with PR people continues to amaze me. No wonder PR agencies are given a bad name. I am so sorry this happened to you, Brent. This is why i advise when you are creating your own content to have a creative commons license on your blog. But, in some instances like this when it is blatant plagiarism you did the right thing which is to call them OUT like that. Shoot, I would even report them to the better business bureau saying that their business practices are questionable. It makes you wonder who really polices PR agencies if there is such a thing.

Just know that obviously you create content that others want but if they want it they would contact you and hire you to help them create a way of sharing information that is informative.

I am so sorry this happened to you! : /

I must add I have added to the insanity and voyeurism. [the tweets I say are usually the 1st thing that comes to my mind and I always have 1 individual who wants to chat chat with me. It's wild!]

Makes you wonder is this a new way of expressing ourselves in words? Will this allow a new trend in expression. Twitter/myspace mood talk?! Or really it shows you how all of us are so needy for attention. That really has been the end result for me. I've seen it all 2 years almost working within both programs. It can be completely addictive.

Makes you wonder? You know how on the IM how we do LOL, smiley faces, etc. I see something else that I don't everyone else sees. It is wild to me.

Excellent analysis for I have been observing more of the conversations of @wendyandlisa, @_maxwell_ and @qoolquest.

Both @wendyandlisa and @qoolquest will interact with their followers but @_maxwell_ follows no one. I found that sort of ODD considering he has an album coming out next year and he was doing a tour that I did go to (TWICE). However, I wonder why whoever handles his twitter account implemented that strategy? To me, that can cause some people to lose followers? I don't know but in the case of maxwell, his fans are still there (I am).

However, there is a dynamic that the celebrity twitter people may not be sharing. A lot of these celebrities have myspace pages and they use their myspace mood status to share information. Some may PING information from their mood status to attach to their twitter account or wherever they are (not to sure) but I am assuming this. Others like maxwell actually changes his mood status every week and it is different from time to time as to what is on twitter.

With @wendyandlisa, they recently updated their mood status to indicate that their record was on sale but I never really saw them use that mood status since I have been friends with them on myspace for the past month. I even see the 1 on one conversations that they have and they have been very receptive to me for I have shared how I am writing a legal article about the problems within the music business.

I was very thankful they keep that door of communication open. That is why I don't mind sharing with them what I find on the internet that may help them spread the word. It's all about relationships as we have always said.

Totally agree and I think it cheapens the effect of what you may be trying to convey to whomever. Now, if you are a professional entertainer who wants to add some magic then maybe but otherwise naah. It would be interesting to see if any of these musicians who are on twitter would consider using the animated gif. Example - MC Hammer [He is on twitter here = http://twitter.com/mchammer]!!

If he had an animated gif of him doing the running man I would DIE laughing but then that is an old image of him. But, you never know.

Something to think about. I don't know. The more I think about the animated gif I think of all the visual artists that I follow? Hmm..possibly? But then again like you I don't want all that flash on my twitter stream especially with me following over 1000 people!

Wow, I have not seen this. Something I would think a younger generation would use. But, then people want to express themselves in a variety of ways. I think this may be a problem is you are a company twitter account and you have all this neon flashing avatar that is basically saying, "I AM [insert brand here] and LISTEN to what I saw because it is golden." If you are just a regular joe like me where you are not a company but being you then it may be okay but then you have to consider the people who are trying to impress (if you are trying to impress). I'm not a fan of the animated gif as it was said below, it is "myspaceish" but to me it is inappropriate if you are over the age of 13!! Just my personal opinion!

I really think all of you should consider using rejaw if you have not been using it to see how it integrates everything that you said in this post but in a simple form. Only problem is to get people to move from friendfeed over to rejaw. I've been using twitter for a year and a half and friendfeed for the past year but I do prefer friendfeed. Only problem though is that not my core friends use friendfeed but they use twitter or plurk. We will see. Thank you for sharing your insight in this matter. Oh LAWD..don't get me started on that. You know I don't own an iPhone nor a blackberry. When I am AWAY from my COMPUTER I don't want to be bothered.

I want to act like I don't have to have a nervous twitch every time my phone may buzz for email. However, although I have a FIRST model Razor phone, I swear I had to sign up for the text message package because sooo many people text me and I was getting charged for stuff I did not want.

I asked them, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME TEXT MESSAGES. I don't have a keypad like a blackberry and I am not going to respond.

NONE of my "friends" LISTENED to my plea and they continued to send me texts and FORWARDS to this day.

Should I charge them the monthly fee for this junk they send me? Then, with Barack Obama, he was about to BLOW UP my cell phone with stuff but then I realized I accidentally signed up for all this junk to be sent to my phone so I unsubscribed from all those lists.

I swear it's hard managing all this junk in the 21st century. **sighing** and **eye balls rolling!**

Thanks, Dave, for you are one of the few who understands this. I swear I want to be FREE from the distractions when I leave my little home office or office.

May I walk down the street and not see someone walk into poles and into pot holes because they are texting? I don't want to look like that fool! : /

I agree agree agree with everything that you said, Dave. I cannot take the generic one line "thanks for the following" in either an @reply or even a DM.

When you see that multiple times for a reply in one day especially when someone is not at their computer and that is all that you see in their twitter stream, it drives ME bonkers because I am on my computer literally all day and I see that robotic, non creative message all the time.

Whenever someone wants to add me and I see that, I feel bad but I decline but I have to do it for my own sanity. You know what is even worse? When people say, Hi @ _______ and it is about 10 names? I am like Lawd please NO!

Your review definitely intrigued me to run out and buy the book for I am constantly mistakened by the Ethiopian community as being a native of Ethiopia. This confusion in my identity began when I was a high school student living in Washington, DC and it continues today. My knowledge of the history of Ethiopia is not that strong but I know the basics of the country which may even confuse some Ethiopians when they meet me. I do not know the language though. I am getting the book. Thank you so much!

Preach..throughout this process I have met some very unstable individuals who have lashed out their dislike of themselves onto me. To get back, I throw humor on them and they cannot take it. The mystery of Gov. Sarah Palin will continue to be unfolded to us through different individuals who are privy to information that the mainstream media will not either tap into or is not aware about or does not care to follow up on. This is the power of how blogging will open your eyes to another dimension of an individual.

I re-watched the clip and was mesmerized. Bryant is so calm and cool in his delivery that I am completely convinced that all that he shared in his 7:00 minutes on youtube.

Google Video is being used a lot now. I am seeing more people use it to send me longer videos. Thank you for the documentary. Watching now. His glasses reminds me of Harry Potter (Harry Gibson).
