Anytime you are active in social media someone will always try to borrow your audience. What's a retweet on twitter? Someone is asking to borrow your audience. That goes the same on facebook when you share a link. Think before you share because you maybe losing an audience to someone else if they always see that you are retweeting someone or sharing particular links on facebook.

Thank you for a wonderful article! It makes me wonder now that we have Misty Copeland and Michaela DePrince if it would draw some interest in the prima ballerinas who helped opened the doors for black females in ballet such as Raven Wilkinson, Joan Myers Brown, Doris W. Jones, Claire Haywood and many more not well known African American ballerinas. I hope the discussions continue. It's a perfect time for us to reach out to those who opened the doors for so many of us to dream of the impossible.

Wow, I applaud Erykah Badu for reaching out on her own and not going through her lawyers to ask permission to sample Paul McCartney's work. The personal touch is greatly appreciated and respected in sensitive issues in sampling music. I'm a lawyer so that's why I'm surprised by this. It may put people like me out of work but it's a sign of the times. Thanks for sharing.

I recently found out about dailybooth.com via the twitter account of @mrskutcher (Demi Moore).

I have a feeling some of these platforms are geared to a certain age and not always 30 something friendly. It seems to me on dailybooth.com, the majority of the individuals sharing photos are 18 to 30.

Whereas on flickr it seems to be a variety of ages and not limited to one.

I prefer sharing pictures of things and places that I am going to and not of myself.

Whereas on dailybooth.com it's more about interaction with pictures of yourself and your followers.

I am primarily a mobile picture blogger so I play around with as many of these photo sharing platforms which best suits my needs.

I found the story of Marie NDiaye interesting considering your topic here although she is French/African. I'm not to sure how her books are marketed in France. It would be interesting to explore.
