Thanks for the comment, Dave. I agree that it shouldn't have been either/or
-- why would the NYT not package the two together as a feature, or at the
very least include a link to the blog? I just don't understand that. In
any case, congrats to you and to Lindsay on a job well done.

it's ultimately a reputation issue and reputation is everything in the VC

I do plenty of things out of altruism, but investing my LP's capital is not one of them. We invest in NYC because we make money doing that. And right now, it appears that we are making a lot of money doing that

We are also doing extremely well in SF (we don't have any companies on the peninsula).

We think NYC and SF are the two best web startup hotbeds right now. I'd put seattle, boston, and socal right after them. Boulder and Austin also are interesting. But we can't be everywhere as much as we'd like to be. We are also testing the waters in europe, particulalry london

I don't have a great answer to your last question. At a minumum, I'd visit one frequently and maybe put one or more employees in one
