I have a feeling Crean is going to be getting on people (Elston and Pritchard, specifically) this week about not using the backboard. Didn't he have a tweet this summer saying that that's one of his biggest pet peeves?

If at any point this season Crean feels like he's losing the crowd, all he needs to do is put Tijan in. We love that guy. His two (TWO!) rebounds would make my personal highlight reel.

I generally have a strict "No Christmas Music Until After Thanksgiving" policy, but I've found myself humming, "It's the most wonderful tiiiime of the yeeeeear" over and over to myself lately, for completely non-Christmas reasons.

I don't care if I have bad seats for tomorrow's exhibition game--it's basketball season! Hallelujah!

It's really bothered me when people have put mentioned Bawa in the same sentence as Tijan when it comes to skill. He has the physical capacity to be a strong big man. Yes, he's raw and once see a whole lot of minutes this season, but I really believe he'll make an impact during his four years here.

That makes sense. It still feels strange, though. Not in a shady way, in a "Why sacrifice the chance at a national championship just to be the centerpiece for a team that will get little national exposure?"-way. Oh well, I'm not inside his mind, or the mind of any of these other recruits. It's got to be a bizarre process to be a part of.

But once again, that assumes that any school with a shot at a championship in his one year had already given him an offer.

Where did this come from? I checked the archives for the post about Ferguson narrowing his list down to seven schools--and FIU wasn't even on it. He couldn't have been the focal point at any of those other schools?

I guess Isiah Thomas must be that good of a recruiter that he made up all of the ground that the seven schools on the list had on him.

Okay, pieces coming together. If we get Irving plus either Zeller or Plumlee I'm going to have to start failing classes to stay in grad school longer so I can keep getting student season tickets in the years to come!

My first thought was Creek--even with the competition for playing time--but the fact that we still don't know his status makes me wary. I want to say Watford, but I think he needs to put some more pounds on. I'm going to go with the one-two punch of Capo and Elston helping out Tom Pritchard in the post. Neither TB nor Taber were physical players, and it meant Pritchard really faded once we got to Big Ten season. Capo and Elston will bring a style of physical post play we were missing last year.

If Jeremiah Rivers were an allowed choice, though, I'd go with him. Though not a freshman, he'll bring the biggest change from last year.

Also, saw the team out on campus getting lunch today. No Bawa or Mo Creek with them, which really shouldn't be surprising. They seemed like they all got along really well, and it made me smile.

Completely anticlimactic. However, I heard from someone that the reason Nike confiscated it was because Jordan was wearing Adidas apparel as he dunked over Lebron in his Nike gear...while possible, I find it hard to believe that anyone at Lebron's camp would wear anything other than Nike.

When it comes to recruiting and scholarship numbers, I'm kind of becoming some sort of Little Engine That Could, repeating over and over, "I trust Coach Crean, I trust Coach Crean, I trust Coach Crean" but it certainly does make me nervous. However, I'd rather have a flood of talented recruits interested in coming here than a drought. You just have to hope Crean gets the right ones from the flood.

That said, is there any chance at all that Morgan would come to IU as a walk-on and save us the scholarship?

Agree completely, Kelin. Even if it's just Irving and Williams in our 2010 class (Though I'd love to get Ferguson somehow, too), I think he'll be a big addition who'll stick around beyond just a year.
