You mean capitalizing off of black insecurity for profit? This is not the first documentary of this kind nor is it the best. I am hoping that we can soon have a more sophisticated conversation.

Chris Rock was not the right person especially with his history of insensitivity towards black women. He lacks the nuance and basic understanding. Intellectually, he is mediocre at best. There needed to be someone who could bring both knowledge and empowerment to this topic. I felt that it was just too shallow and Hollywood. Did anyone catch the buffoonery during his multiple daytime television appearances?

Acts of Faith Blog as well as LosAngelista Blog both have strong points of view and neither are impressed or looking to see the film.

Now my question, putting what out in the open? We have a history of being psycho-analyzed and taken a part like science projects for mass consumption. People of other races quite frankly, don't understand the history, politics and social issues that surround this and they will walk away looking at us like we are a spectacle...dysfunctional...as always. So I do not get the point of you calling Chris Rock brave or claiming that this conversation or topic needs more attention.

P.S. Stop discussing Michael Jackson, it is played out and tired. Stop making him the poster boy for everything especially when you do not know all of the facts. You are not Michael and I doubt you knew him.

P.S.S. Was Bell Hooks consulted or just Nia Long and her ilk (no offense)?

Trust me Rhonacocoa, you are not in anyway shape or form completely undesirable as a black woman to black men.

I know I may travel in black circles a lot, black church, black college alumni functions, involvement with young black achievers organizations, raised in a black neighborhood, etc. etc.

So maybe that has given me a skewed view in some way but, I just know so many black men that love and adore black woman. I mean I admit, there is also no shortage of examples of black men who disrespect and do no honor black woman.

But, a lot of those same men disrespect and do not honor woman period...

I feel like I made an effort to be respectful and share what I believe at the same time.

I am very sorry that what I said stung you. That was definitely not my intention but wholeheartedly acknowledge the impact on you. It was my intention to express that despite what positive experiences certain Black men (at least the one's "in question," and the one's I talked about specifically related to Match . com,) are choosing to accept racist ideas and even perpetuate stereotypes about Black women despite having really positive experiences with Black women too.

Again, I apologize for hurting you but I do hope that someone who has perhaps chosen to prefer all races of women (including Latinas) BUT Black read what I wrote- and maybe that provoked critical thought.

I'm not trying to pimp your pain. I was trying to advocate for what I believe is right and call out what I believe is decisively ignorant behavior. In my opinion, you cannot love your Black mother, aunts, and sisters and then ACTIVELY dismiss other Black women for being Black. It's dead wrong.

I hate that you are hurt. I hate that my friend is hurt. I can be a ferocious advocate. Next time, I'll tone it down.

I understand what you are saying Evita but providing that you are not black you probably feel empowered to point such things out without thinking about the feelings of others.

As a young black girl, must I constantly be reminded that I am completely undesirable.

Rhondacoca.I am 58years old and I feel all you do and more.I feel stricken and immobilized.I feel angry beyond words because I feel he was killed by someone.I am angry because of the media onslaught to make money on him while trying to slander and hurt him even in death and because some in the media who like Whoopi Goldberg could counter the crap are sitting by silent .I thank God for Whoopi she is a woman of truth.I am angry and hurt that the President waited days before he commented on Michaels death. He neded no prompting for the journalist who followed Michael.Whatever Michael s faults he was a great ambassador for the USA, excellence, and world peace .He was great , a great human being.Michaels' impact through his artistry in dance and video production,through the powerful lyrics of his song has been global,even universal!No one can dispute these facts or take away Michaels' power.

While I know God is in his heaven and all is right with the world.I cant help feeling profound disappointment in Oprah's' silence and the presidents slow response on the death of Mr. Michael Jackson.
Some of us because of where we are placed socially have certain unwritten obligations to our audience. -Thats just how it is .

I'm not Republican. Its upsetting witnessing this kind of malignancy for a president which is unparalleled--even Clinton at his worse with his sexual indiscretions and lies didn't recieve so much outright loathing--then Obama--30 death threats a day--400% more than any other president.

Its been shoved down Black people's throats that the majority of White people voted for Obama and he couldn't have won the election without their agency, yet not one of them have protested these kinds of oviously racially motivated acts--and all I hear is that many have buyer's remorse.
