OK me: I am a web designer & constructor of structures living in beautiful sunny, foggy, cold & hot Merced, California with my wife Diedra and our little Squid. Someday maybe we'll run off to the mountains, hermitate and go off the grid, but until then, you can find me juggling a mouse, a hammer, a lump of clay, and dirty diapers [not necessarily in that order].
In the last seven plus years, Redwood Design has been chugging along developing web solutions for some really great clients. My work has a good bit of variety to it while focussing on a few distinct niche areas. My specialties include Flash, interface design, information architecture, and art direction. My design approach owes a great deal to my landscape architecture studies at Cal Poly SLO where I earned a BS degree. I find that there is an amazing amount of similarity between interface design and landscape architecture design problems. Although designing web sites is a full-time endeavor, I have had some interesting personal and business diversions along the way.

One of which is my interest in building and redevelopment. I often find myself puzzling over what the best use of a space is for hours on end. In 2001 I bought my first major project and gutted a 1915 "Salt Box" Victorian to its shell and designed a nice little home out of it. You can see where this project started, as well as when we were happy to move in. Then on to the rear landscape, and in progress garage / studio.

Also from time to time I pop into the community college and beg the teachers there to let me throw some pots. Before I attended Cal Poly I was "screwing around" taking art classes at Hayward State and discovered the world of ceramics and the magic of the wheel. Time can still stop when I get into the rhythm of a good throwing session. I don't really have too many images of them although maybe I should because they are stored precariously here and there at our house waiting to be adopted by a good home.

Although I don't consider myself a world renowned photographer, I do take an abundance of photographs. I most often use a Fuji Finepix S2 with a few Nikon Lenses but also employ a phone camera when the opportunity strikes.
