We're talking about in lightroom (not just randomly around in windows - which should be fine) - it has an effect on performance.

LR only uses GPU acceleration on the primary monitor -- and for my workflow I prefer just one monitor.

Overclocking done properly has a very limited stability concern. Especially with a binned CPU on good silicon that is more capable of what was set at the factory. Given that you work in defense/aerospace it's clear that stability is of utmost importance. The same is not true for me and I rank performance higher.

Yea it gets slower the more cores you give it for develop actions -- as I mention in the post :) Hence why I opted for fewer, faster cores.

I purchased some of the parts way earlier. The GPU now costs double due to crypto mining demand. The 6k does include the cost of display, vesa arm, cable management things, keyboard, mouse, speaker etc... just the core parts is cheaper.

Author here - contrary to popular belief delidding usually means the process of removing, cleaning off excess glue and bad thermal paste, applying liquid metal, and mounting the IHS even closer to the die than it was from the factory. If you go to any popular Youtuber's channel that is into overclocking and reviewing products they refer to it the same way. But in my post I do mention the use of actually removing the lid entirely and mounting it with extreme precision with separate mounting kits with spacers (like EK-Supremacy PreciseMount kits).

I think a GoPro is fine for videos but I wouldn't rely on it just for photos. Everything will be super wide-angled and not the highest quality, not sharp in the edges, etc

I think it does support 1920x1200 as well, just might be a bit slower to open up the browser (and probably can't play videos all that well) but should work.

If you wanted something more random you can definitely script your own with a command line image viewer like feh. I love Google Photos so any opportunity to use it is well worth it for me. Could also give it URLs of various albums and have it switch between albums every so often.
