We've been out there and open for user registrations, but we have "laid low" and not really pushed it marketing-wise aside from me rambling on about startup life/etc on my blog. Mainly word of mouth so far. I'll let ya know how that ends up. Hit me up for a free paid account if you want to give it a whirl later on.

Ha! That's exactly why I asked about the coworking. Feel the same way, not useful to me unless I'm looking to socialize. Now we know why most office places don't get any work done.

Haha I find I only cowork when I would rather be less productive but more social. If I need to get shit done I'm best left alone in my apartment with my huge desk, good coding music (generally stuff on mugasha.com), frigid A/C, ample coffee and comfy herman miller.

Skribit is nearing its "official launch" pretty soon. Finishing up some cool things (twitter oauth!) and then we'll be ready to market it and get some press. :)

Well said David. I fall into the still-virtual startup category. One local co-founder and an intern in AZ and we work online almost exclusively with Campfire chat. I am also a member of a local coworking facility called Ignition Alley for meeting up to get work done.

This video certainly has much to do with social media news, starting with the fact that it was surveillance camera footage which was picked up by the news media which then was recorded and uploaded to websites which are social in nature. But that's just speaking in technicalities. A video going viral is a combination of being shared and being media. Oh wait, that's technically social media also..

I'm actually not quite sure why this isn't social media news. Perhaps these kinds of stories should be prefaced with [viral media] in their titles, as they are in fact social media in action either before or after it is posted in Mashable. Then if a reader wishes he or she can simply skip reading the story altogether upon seeing the title. When I read a newspaper there certainly are sections I don't ever read. Apply the habit here.

Did you get a chance to hang out in the lounge just inside the entrance to the Expo area? That was the chillin'/snackin' spot. That's pretty much open all day.

Last year, we also had an early evening mixer in a conference room with refreshments an hour or so before the evening parties, and that was nice. We're thinking of bringing that back next year.

Thanks for stopping by TechDrawl Dave. Yeah I definitely agree about the clubs - they were awesome venues and I would normally have a blast at places like that, but when I'm surrounded by bloggers I've been reading for years and I just want to chat with them I'd be better off elsewhere.

As for networking in-between sessions - I think it would be great if there was some more downtime between panels - or maybe just a free 1-hour block somewhere in the day, and one room was designated as the chill/chat room and had basic beverages and laptop charging stations and tables. The day was definitely long enough - I found myself often skipping the very last panel of the day to get ready and find dinner before the 8pm parties/events rolled around.

Hey Patrick - I actually did enjoy Scoble's Lists demo as well.. just put the "devolved" part in there as some snark. :-) I got Twitter lists access around the same time he did so I was just learning the ins and outs of it so it was nice to see his interpretation!
