Especially with a binned CPU on good silicon that is more capable of what was set at the factory. Given that you work in defense/aerospace it's clear that stability is of utmost importance. The same is not true for me and I rank performance higher.

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

Yes :) And PUBG, BF1, Overwatch, Destiny 2 and any Rift title.

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

Yea it gets slower the more cores you give it for develop actions -- as I mention in the post :) Hence why I opted for fewer, faster cores.

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

Yea there are some people that are all about it haha https://www.polygon.com/201...

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

Yes - please read the post I talk about the exact parts list and what it includes there.

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

I purchased some of the parts way earlier. The GPU now costs double due to crypto mining demand. The 6k does include the cost of display, vesa arm, cable management things, keyboard, mouse, speaker etc... just the core parts is cheaper.

Re: This Guy Built an Ultimate Lightroom Battlestation for $6,000

Author here - contrary to popular belief delidding usually means the process of removing, cleaning off excess glue and bad thermal paste, applying liquid metal, and mounting the IHS even closer to the die than it was from the factory. If you go to any popular Youtuber's channel that is into overclocking and reviewing products they refer to it the same way. But in my post I do mention the use of actually removing the lid entirely and mounting it with extreme precision with separate mounting kits with spacers (like EK-Supremacy PreciseMount kits).

Re: Traveling Won’t Make You a Better Photographer

"you need to shoot more".. and travel is one way to shoot more and keep it fun. :) That's how I've been learning, just on trips over the years: https://paulstamatiou.com/p...

Re: Traveling and photography (Part 1)

I think a GoPro is fine for videos but I wouldn't rely on it just for photos. I love Google Photos so any opportunity to use it is well worth it for me. Could also give it URLs of various albums and have it switch between albums every so often.

Re: Getting started with Raspberry Pi

Definitely on my to do list for sure!

Re: Getting started with Raspberry Pi

Absolutely agree!

Re: Getting started with Raspberry Pi

Yeah that would be great!

Re: Traveling and photography (Part 1)

It's based on this https://medium.com/coding-d...
