Exactamente! I agree if he is in this field, then...? I posed the question to Evan D of scouts.com, is there a player out there that could raise our 09 ranking even higher than the 5-7 range where it stands now. Very interesting!!!

I take it that our 2009 class is in the top 5-7. Is there a player still available , that we have a chance with, that could significantly improve that ranking. If so, who, and what's the likelihood of landing him?

i would think that a number of big east coaches wouldn't mind getting out of the meat grinder and giving it a go at a storied program. will be interesting to see what happens.

Excellent point Blabster! Another basic that can be so beneficial to a quick player...one certain way to gain respect in the open/back court. How about a jab step then a shot fake? OMG the ramifications are boundless. lol

Hulls will most likely display the most well rounded fundamentals next year. Hopefully the team will learn from him. Am watching games this afternoon and just don't see players using the fake. It's a great tool. Well put...it not only gives you more foul opps, but as you point out, it opens up space...either for an uncontested shot or a better view of the lane/court. I am really excited about next year...just hope Coach has the moxey to utilize what he gots and gets a little more mileage out of fundamentals...i.e. shot fake...blocking out...bounce passing, etc. How bout some back doors off of failed picks?

Jerry, you seem like an educated basketball fan, as do all of the posters here. I have a question for you guys.What ever happened to the shot fake? I know that when I played ball, it was taught as a primary fundamental of the game. I know I used it a lot...especially when I was guarded by a taller, more athletic player. It was easy for me to draw fouls...many times leading to 3 point plays. Am i remiss in that this years team didn't use it much? Pritchard, Dumes and Moore come to mind. I surmise that we should have/could have garnered many more trips to the line...gotten more key players in foul trouble...and scored a few more points per game. Not that it matters now, but I can see this helping us next year.

VJ III is a baller. He, Williams and Story will get much playing time next year. All the returning players will be tough next year. They will challenge the newbies next season. I can see the team going at least .500 next year in big ten and winning 18+ games next year. Wow...I don't know when I have seen a team play this hard.

IU will be featured on College Gameday Sat @11. Should be interesting. Isn't Bobby on that program now? Either way, it will be interesting to see which angle they take. BTW, I love this team. Could be an interesting B10 tourney...seriously (no rose colored glasses here). I really feel IU will be at least a "light-heavyweight" contender in 2 more seasons.

Excellent point, and I believe that is most likely the case. Take Jobe for instance...I would assume that a player such as Jobe would find it a great pleasure to be a scholarship player at IU for a season. Could he remain as a practice team player should his scholly get pulled? Look what Crean has had to deal with. There might not neccessarily need to be an exeption to "the rule", but it may just be a neccessary evil for the man, the program and the institution (of basketball) for a season. Wish we we privey to the going ons.

Ryan...you are my Boy. After reading what alex wrote, I was furious. Well said my friend. I live in Georgia, and I was thrilled just to see the game. I would have thought a professional would have used adjectives such as "struggled...faltered..miscued" Come on alex!!! Enough about you already. These boys have a mountain few (if ever any) teams have looked up. What an effort boys! UK impressed me...wow...long...fast..athletic. We never gave up. We played harder than they did. I'm sure the UK players congratulated them all...much more than can be said for you alex. I have said too much. Good job boys...keep it up!
