It was predictable since they already had partnered up with Google before as mentioned.. Nice partnership for Salesforce though as they need Google more then Google needs them --- they are in it to win it and that is good news. I like their aggressive approaches as well. A company I follow closely :)

It's not worth $500m

Display advertising rates are down big time and I just don't see Twitter performing even at a fraction at some of the revenue estimates/potential #s that have been suggested by some people who are suppose to know this stuff.

It is a useful service, but how exactly does it justify a price tag upwards of 9 figures??

Lots of changes at Google recently.

Everybody is now rushing and pushing things forward before the holiday season... I had a feeling this would happen although the economics played a roll as well I am pretty sure.

We'll see if this is still avail in 24 hrs :)

Yeah, as I note in the post, I expect we'll see Google experimenting a lot less with products outside of its core focus in the next year or so.
