I would argue that companies could definitely benefit from using Twitter for marketing and PR. Understanding and listening to what people care about is so important and Twitter gives companies a unique opportunity to listen to what the masses have to say versus what the media thinks to be the case. This is a rare opportunity where you can be an active listener and observer. In this regard, I guess it is using Twitter less as a PR tool (which I do believe can happen through various channels i.e. @MicroPR (micro pitching) @skydiver (HARO media opps) #journchat (PR and media discuss various subjects). I, for one, alert my clients whenever someone is talking about their product or service so that they can understand what is being said and how to respond. Maybe this is not exactly what you had in mind but I definitely have some strong opinions on the subject. I think I may just have to do a post myself in response ;)

I always learn a great deal from your posts both on this blog and on Twitter. I hope to continue the discussion

Re: The Anti Writer

For some reason, I hate writing for myself but love writing behind someone else.
