I can't see Fox Soccer Channel being able to outbid ESPN for the TV rights, which will be up for bidding before the 2009/2010 season. The rights are getting more and more expensive. If anything, I see Fox having less Premier League coverage in the future rather than more. And I don't see them taking Prem games off Setanta and putting them on FSC. This is purely conjecture, so I may be wrong.

I wouldn't describe what happened at the Riverside Stadium last May as hooliganism. The Man City fans were trying to verbally antagonize the police and Boro fans.

Not all of the people reading this blog happen to live in Liverpool, so to read about the poverty and state of the houses directly behind Anfield will be quite surprising to many readers outside the UK (which are the majority of readers to this site).

I stand by the headline and the article I wrote. Yes, I know that Liverpool FC own many of the houses but I included a link to David Conn's article which had a lot more detail about the homes.

My question for Mike Ashley would be why would he bother buying the club in the first place? Why not let somebody else buy it when he showed interest knowing that a different investor may have been able to pour in a lot more money?

Sure, United are/were a shamble but for Ashley to think that he could have turned the club into an Arsenal is ridiculous. To me, saying that he wanted to turn the club into an Arsenal is an excuse that he didn't want to invest even more massive sums of money.

What Spurs needs is someone to inject some grit into the squad and to get fired up when the chips are down. While I agree with you that John Terry is hardly a model captain, Spurs are in need of someone with his balls-to-the-walls energy. Screaming at Petr Cech last Saturday was a good example.

Someone should be doing the same thing to the back four to keep them in line.

Well, at least two people care enough about Wigan to respond to the article. Thanks for your comments, but I can pretty much guarantee that very few other fans will respond. Not sure where Wigan fans hide, but they don't seem very visible on the Internet.

Jason Koumas's performances, I agree, have been too inconsistent. The same thing happens when he plays for Wales, but there's no doubt he's a skilled footballer. Heskey? If he can do better than what he's done so far this season, which we know he can, then it's going to be an even better year for the Latics.

Good observations, thanks.

The reason why the scores aren't mentioned during games is because a lot of people watch matches on DVR. So the last thing they want are mad soccer fans finding out what the score is for a different game they haven't had a chance to watch yet.
