Funny, I was thinking of doing a post on FMO on brunch because I had a friend come into town a few weeks ago and she asked me where she and her relative should go to brunch. They ended up going to Cafe Nola on E. Patrick St. and enjoyed it very much.

I've received the MV Trading Post in the mail before, but it's not very regular. Definitely not bi-weekly but more like every couple months. I've never seen it anywhere else.

Actually, we are doing a get-together for the Alive@Five show on June 26th. The band is a jazz/funk fusion band, not sure if that floats your boat but it should be a good time! My daughter is 19 as well and her favorite restaurant is Isabella's in downtown Frederick on Market St. It's a tapas restaurant so you and your friends can order a bunch of small plates to share. Personally, I'd go anywhere in downtown Frederick over Friday's!! :-) Brewer's Alley has a pretty varied menu from pizza and sandwiches to dinners. Firestone's is nice especially if you get one of the tables in the window upstairs. If you like Mexican/Spanish food, try Cacique. All of these places are right on Market St. I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

I haven't been a member of the Y in a long time so I don't know the prices anymore. They have different plans (single, family etc...) and I've heard they are relatively expensive. They also have a lot more to offer with the pools and excellent facilities.

The Talley Rec Center is a very good bargain, especially for city residents. The price goes up if you are not a resident of the city of Frederick.

The YMCA is close by there (N. Market and 9th St.) and the city has a nice gym in the Talley Rec Center right in Baker Park at the corner of 2nd and Bentz St.

That's a shame. Especially the part about the reason for the decision is that the team is not doing well. Does that mean, since they kept the rights to the games, that if the Orioles start competing for the division, they may start airing the games later in the season? The last thing a team needs, after several losing seasons, is to be kicked in the gut like that. The O's aren't my favorite team, but it doesn't seem right that the local radio stations aren't covering our local Maryland team!

Jessica, if you are going to the TJ/ Oppossumtown Pike area where most of the area doctors are, I'd look at My Thai or Lintini's, both in front of the Weis plaza at the corner of those two roads. I suppose it would be helpful to know which part of town you are going to be lunching? That makes a difference.

I don't think it's really stolen from anything. I believe Frederick was originally called "Frederick Town" so a person from here would be called a Fredericktonian. It sounds better than Fredericktownian! Haha.

I think the downtown train station is a "kiss and ride" station. I know there are buses that drop off and pick up there as well. There's lots of parking at the train station behind Target though.
