They ended up going to Cafe Nola on E. Patrick St. and enjoyed it very much.

Re: Villages of Urbana?

You might want to try posting on the urbana md website: http://www.urbanamaryland.com/

I can't promise anything as it doesn't seem to be a very active website, but maybe your post will get a rare comment or reply. Definitely not bi-weekly but more like every couple months. I've never seen it anywhere else.

Re: Does anyone else like classical music, jazz, good wine and food, and exploring museums and other interesting things?

Actually, we are doing a get-together for the Alive@Five show on June 26th. The band is a jazz/funk fusion band, not sure if that floats your boat but it should be a good time! Click on the "Go to blog" button at the top of this page and read the June events post for more info. Hope to see you there!

Re: Mother's Day Meals

Are you a Costco member? Personally, I'd go anywhere in downtown Frederick over Friday's!! :-) Brewer's Alley has a pretty varied menu from pizza and sandwiches to dinners. Firestone's is nice especially if you get one of the tables in the window upstairs. If you like Mexican/Spanish food, try Cacique. All of these places are right on Market St. I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

Happy Birthday!!

Re: getting to the airport

Joules, if you go the the Frederick Maryland Online blog and scroll down the right sidebar, under "Sponsored Links" there's a link to Airport Xpress. They have different plans (single, family etc...) and I've heard they are relatively expensive. They also have a lot more to offer with the pools and excellent facilities.

The Talley Rec Center is a very good bargain, especially for city residents. The price goes up if you are not a resident of the city of Frederick.

Re: Finding a place to live

The YMCA is close by there (N. Denied!

That's a shame. Especially the part about the reason for the decision is that the team is not doing well. Does that mean, since they kept the rights to the games, that if the Orioles start competing for the division, they may start airing the games later in the season? The last thing a team needs, after several losing seasons, is to be kicked in the gut like that. The O's aren't my favorite team, but it doesn't seem right that the local radio stations aren't covering our local Maryland team!

Re: Lunch Suggestions?

Guy beat me to it. I suppose it would be helpful to know which part of town you are going to be lunching? That makes a difference.

Re: What is the term for a resident of Frederick?

I don't think it's really stolen from anything. I believe Frederick was originally called "Frederick Town" so a person from here would be called a Fredericktonian. It sounds better than Fredericktownian! Haha.

Re: What is the term for a resident of Frederick?

I believe it's "Fredericktonian".

Re: Karaoke bars?

Bblande, if you go over to frederick maryland online (the link is over on the right) and look in the sidebar under "related links" for Fredrocks, they did a karaoke post a few posts ago and listed a few places.

Re: Superbowl Take-out food

I agree with Toppings for wings, and I like their pizza too.

I like Costco for big party supplies.

Re: donating diapers and formula

Maybe try Heartly House?
