You may, of course, do whatever you like with your sexuality and body. I don't necessarily agree with waiting til marriage- what if you're not sexually compatible? that can be a big issue- but I applaud your courage of conviction.
That said, these purity balls seem to take agency from these girls and give it to their fathers, and also teach them that their most important asset is their virginity.
There's a big difference "between deciding to avoid any risk of STD's and wanting to share something special on your wedding night" and "being taught your whole life that your sexuality is sinful and it's your fault if you're raped and if you have premarital sex your life will be ruined". Not to mention this completely ignores that not all girls will grow up to marry men.

It's a little more than that. The ceremony is "pledging the fathers as the keepers of their daughter's virginity", meaning he's in charge of keeping her 'pure' til she's married off, at which point her purity belongs to her husband.
Asking your kids to wait until they're ready or the 'birds and bees' talk is very different from implying a woman needs someone to protect her from making impure decisions such as premarital sex (no matter if she's over 18)... and by extension, why should she need to make any major decisions in her life, right? Her parents will provide for her... provide their plans for her entire life, and she should be grateful for it.

Why? It's not like it doesn't happen, and I thought it too, because of the creepiness of these photos and because I think the idea of 'giving your virginity to your father' is creepy in and of itself. Even if it's just metaphorical.

It's more the fact that this guy got a list of former child actors he thinks are 'ugly' and then encouraged readers to judge and mock them for no particular reason. Sure, some people are ugly and that's fine, but encouraging others to judge them for it is pretty shallow. He didn't simply say 'some people are ugly'. He said 'THESE people are ugly, let's laugh at them!' THAT'S why people are mad at this writer.

I'm pretty sure that shooting a person point-blank who isn't trying to actively kill you with a weapon, whether they are 'resisting' or not, is indeed 'excessive'. Cops are supposedly trained to take someone down with non-lethal force, and a flailing skinny drunk kid shouldn't be such a threat that you have to shoot them. As for 'he may have drawn a weapon'? That's... really easily abused, as it is being now.

Does it really matter? Most of these people on here aren't going to listen to you.
For some of them, it's just blind self-righteousness. For some of them, it's about wanting to punish women for having sex. "Take responsibility for your actions" means "Your BC failed so now you are responsible for another human for the rest of your life, whether you can care for it or not! Should have kept your legs closed, slut!"
If they believe I am going to hell, so be it. When they start enacting laws to remove my bodily autonomy, I get annoyed. My uterus is still inside me, thus any decisions about happens in it are mine to make.
But thanks for speaking up, at least.

I despise that. Like, depression kind of hampers one's ability to be positive in the first place. During the worst parts of my depression, I had people frequently tell me that "you just have to buck up and DO it", about getting a job ("getting a job will make you feel better about yourself"), moving past crippling emotions ("be the bigger person!"), whatever ("just get over it!").
I wanted to [violence] every time I heard it, because at that point, even having breakfast or brushing my hair seemed like a waste of time or an expenditure of mental effort that wasn't worth it, as anything I tried was doomed to fail anyway. The idea of looking for a job, never mind getting or trying to keep one, was terrifying. I felt like I was living in a hole. I was essentially paralyzed with fear, guilt and apathy. 'Helpful advice' usually did the opposite of help.
Eventually, therapy and medication (and my priceless partner) helped, but I still have bad days. And I generally have ceased asking advice from anyone that said anything like that to me, because they were Not Helpful. I ranted, vented, cried, wrote in a journal, and smoked a lot of pot. And I still do that pretty often, but at least I usually feel human these days.
Anyway, geez I wrote a novel, sorry. But what I'm saying is, I get it. That guy is SO wrong. Whatever you end up needing to 'fix' (ugh) your depression, just 'being positive' probably won't be it.
I am sending hopeful thoughts and jedi hugs your way, should you want them.

When I first read your list, I read 'fisting lures', which... I'm glad I reread, cause I couldn't come up with any response to that.
Also, I'm pretty sure the opposite of salad flavor would be Grease, or maybe "Your arteries are screwed".
