They let people who ask for features know whether or not that feature is in development. And if there is an actual bug reported by a user they are quite fast at fixing it. http://friendfeed.com/search?q=comment%3Aana%2C...

Re: fixing #followfriday.

Really? Kinda ... but not really. They listen to their users.

Re: Are you using Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter differently?

I will just echo what AlliFlowers said. The only reason I even have a Facebook account is that I am curious about all forms of social media. As it turns out, I have connected with old friends and distant relatives on there. Twitter is a fabulous listening tool for me, and once I build my network a bit larger, I know I will be able to "crowdsource" answers to interesting questions as well. LinkedIn is kind of an obligatory thing in case anyone needs to look me up or if I ever end up job hunting again.

Re: Twitter Shenanigans

Amount of followers to a person who has been using Twitter for awhile=worthless. Amount of followers to a person who is new to Twitter=Very Important. I'm just worried about people taking the advice of someone who has more perceived authority then they actually do... No money. But lots of jobs, business knowledge and important info gets passed around Twitter. In fact I've been concentrating on Twitter as one of my main sources for trying to find both consulting work and a marketing job.

Re: Twitter Shenanigans

It sucks that people do this but it doesn't bother me because 1) I would never follow someone based solely on their number of followers and 2) I would never turn on autofollow. I don't understand why people do that. I don't feel any obligation to follow people who follow me. I follow people who are interesting. Is there really something to be gained by having lots of followers? Is there money in this game yet?

Re: louisgray.com: Scoble Starts His FriendFeed/Twitter Monetization Strategy

Personally, I think this is a non-issue, but I am curious as to one thing. Scoble is suggesting people order it so they can be the first to get a v2., and if they don't get a 2 just return it. So if a sale is made, does he get his affiliate cut even if the person returns it? If so, then this is a scam that could be milked ad infinitum. But it can't be that way - I think I just answered my own question.

Re: Overnight success takes a long time

Yeah, Paul, tell George about your home based business!

Re: louisgray.com: Twitter Followers Spiking As Service Increases Momentum

Laura, thanks for noticing the use of the word "buttload". I will now go forth and consume my bacon guilt free! Um, what about the nitrates and nitrites and all that? Waffling now. Mmmmmmm, waffles.

Re: Is This Stupid?: You Heard It Hear First: Bacon Can Be Part of a Healthy Diet

Good thing I just ate, or you would be making me hungry! As for nitrates,
there are several brands that are nitrate and preservative free. I know
Oscar Meyer makes one that is in most the 'normal' grocery stores around
here. Applewood Farms (I think) also makes a really good nitrate free bacon.
Granted, they cost more, but it's not like you're eating a pound a day,
right?

Re: louisgray.com: Twitter Followers Spiking As Service Increases Momentum

You said, "buttload" hehe. Nice post as always. Here's how the increase looks from a lowly plebe's perspective: Average followers per day since August = 1. Average followers per day this week = 5.

Re: 2008/05/16/friendfeed-does-it-enrich-the-conversation-or-add-to-the-noise/

Looking forward to hearing more about this tool, Rob!

To a certain extent, however, the problem with the comments kind of boils down to turf wars. One or two services need to emerge as the leaders, I think.

I find it ironic that, as I'm posting this, Mashable is offering me the option of posting this comment on Twitter, Friendfeed, and Ping. Since I don't know if the comment would be threaded properly, I certainly am not going to choose any of those options. I think it's still helpful if the main conversation takes place on the blog, if a blog is involved, and in one of the comments or in an update, the blog author can point to other conversations as needed.

Re: 2008/12/05/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-friendfeed/

Great synopsis of the basics! You mentioned wanting to cluster different rooms into one rich feed. If I understand your need correctly, rest assured this capability already exists. Simply add rooms to a list instead of (or in addition to) people. I have several food-related rooms in one list, nonprofit-related rooms in another, friendfeed-related rooms in another. Works great!

Re: My FriendFeed presentation from MIT/Stanford Venture Lab - Bret Taylor's blog

If you think that launching Rooms was part of what contributed to your growth, please, please, please make the rooms easier to discover and promote them more. You could have a page featuring the most active rooms, the biggest rooms, etc.

I love FriendFeed and to the sourpuss who said "you can see what boring people share", I have to respectfully and wholeheartedly disagree. FriendFeed is an important professional development tool for me, and it does it quicker than any other method I can think of. I look forward to its continuing development.

Re: What does your digital fingerprint say about you? « My Thoughts On Social Media

You know what? Lots of people had soft porn exposed that night, but most of them probably shrugged it off as, "yeah, I'm human, so what?"

Re: 2008/09/06/like-soft-porn-try-friendfeed-now/

OK, it kind of cracks me up that you say the guy "had already gone to sleep" when the potentially damaging favorites showed up.

This guy has never posted on friendfeed and is subscribed to only three people. Only one person is subscribed to him. His feed consists of one page with 21 tweets dating back to October and two stumble posts, plus last night's three errant youtube favorites. I kinda doubt if he even remembers he has a friendfeed account. But eventually that page is going to become googleable and bite him in he ass.

Re: 2008/09/06/like-soft-porn-try-friendfeed-now/

Dario, that is not the person in question.
