Charlie, i don't think we wore that many diffrent types of shoes, but if we include 60's style in general, the old go-go boots would have to make an apperance.

It was great club and I am just glad that it was part of my youth. The music has continued with me throughout my life and I have enjoyed many a Mod night out throughout the years with my friends, old and new.

I can see from this site that the scene did continue after the Scene Club closed, but it died for me when the The Scene Club closed. We (me and my friends) had nowhere to go and we were forced to retreat to our rooms with our record players LiLi. The Star Club was never my scene and, for me, that appeared to be the only thing on offer at that time before I left Glasgow all those years ago.

IMO, it was not a dress code that killed the scene, in my time it was the closure of the scene club that killed the scene. Sorry if i hit a nerve Davie, no intention. Never been called a snob before LiLi

Great to meet you all the other night at Friday Street, I was knacked the next day, due to my excessive dancing. I really enjoyed the music and most of all the company. My only complaint is a lack of dress code, but I totally understand why they don't have one, as they have to pull the punters in to ensure that the venue costs are covered and that the Scene lives on, but it would be great if the Glasgow Mod Weekender venue had a smaller room inside, which was strictly dress code only, do you agree?

I think it is Manchesters Hideaway that are hosting the night do's in Berwick, which means loads of R&B, Fabtastic. H, Berwick is a good drive from us, but you and Mark are more than welcome to crash at ours if you fancy it hun.

Did you watch the documentary last night about Phil Spector, it was really good, he talked about working with Tina and Ike and how this song was very popular in Britain, but not America. It's a great song and Tina owns it. I must admit I never knew that PS wrote and produced "To know know him " (I think that is what it is called) and "Spanish Harlem". If you didn't see it have a look and see if it's reapeated, as he is quite frank and has some interesting stories to tell, especially about his The Long and Winding Road arrangement and the Let it Be album.

I'm not really hot on what is a national rally and what's not, as I don't really attend them, I mainly go to Mod Do's throughout the country and don't have a scooter. Steve goes to them though and would not be surprised that I have no idea about these things, as I'm a mini owne LiLi.

NG really enjoyed Part 2 and was very sadden to hear of the demise of the Scottish Rallies in 1990, however it's great to see that the National Rallies have returned, with great turnouts I believe. Steve has been to Kelso a few times and really enjoyed it, but it always seems to rain on the day he heads up that way. The Berlin Bar, I think that was called the Europa in my time in the 80's? Not sure, but I did a few swallies in there at that time. On the subject of bars, we used to go to a pub under the Highlanders Umbrella, something Tropical?? I think was part of it's name. The cocktails were great that much I remember, or not as the case may have been some nights LiLi
