I found a few of the headers myself, but the
only one worth passing along is that an exe could also have 'ZM' as well as
'MZ'. It would be good to know
which ones that CA looks for to do their renaming. Seems like the wording could have
been left open to interpretation so that anyone who feels that those options
are against their beliefs would be able to opt out without explicitly
defining such a charged word. Language is such a funny thing, so many
arguments about belief take on a distracting side argument about semantics.

Re: Is This Stupid?: I Don't Understand the Dichotomy of the Repubilcan Platform. Here's my take on the party reasoning, but who knows if I'm right. In all my history classes that covered the Declaration of Independence the pursuit of happiness was portrayed to me as the right to own property, but it appears that might be a narrow reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life,_liberty_and_...

Anyway, I'm no expert but for points one and two I'd say those are about trying to keep people away from things that COULD be destructively addicting leading to someone become a drain on society more than anything else. Obviously this didn't work with alcohol and I think we'll see a continued loosening of these restrictions as people learn more and some of the baseless fears are reduced.

# My ability to keep my money and maintain my property is more important than my ability to make decisions that concern my own body.

- this is kinda vague, so dunno

# My pursuit of happiness isn't as important as someone else's happiness with my choices (i.e. my choice of birth control, marriage partner, or prescription drugs).

- Don't know what birth control is banned, but I think marriage is too tied up with religion and that we need a separation with a separate term for government. So I guess I diverge with the base here. There's no law against adoption based on sexual orientation and I don't hear of anyone pushing for one, so the "for the children" line is crap. This policy is obvious pandering and is an intolerance I could do without.

Re: The Reports of KillerStartups Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

It certainly is!

Re: The Reports of KillerStartups Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

Rob, I don't know that what I do qualifies as journalism, but I do
appreciate the comment.

Re: Social Media Narcissism

I'm sure it was Steve's McCain supporter unsubscription post that inspired this. I had a very similar reaction to you and said so on the thread (David Knight). Steve remained subscribed to me and then later posted the following comment:

"Interesting points of view all, I feel the need to clarify a bit. My initial post was a reaction to another thread where some of the commenters were actively anti-Obama. I only ended up un-following/friending 2 people, NOT exhaustively wiping anyone who mentioned McCain support from my entire digital life. I agree with all the comments here regarding the richness and vitality of discussion with those of differing viewpoints. That said, I feel that the US has been on deeply wrong track for too many years... - (steve isaacs)"

Despite his choice of words to start with I think he was just dropping people engaging in political Trolling, a practice I follow no matter what party someone supports.

Re: Is This Stupid?: Why I'm Avoiding a Personal Brand (Subtitle - Yes, I'm a Woman)

I work in 'Sparkle City' (most inaccurate name ever) live in Greer.
