Now all the Obama supporters need to hold him to his word. The mandate is there, but he can't go down the road of Pelosi and company, who failed to act on their mandates in 2006.

Re: Will this election end in a civil war? Would Larry Ellison of Oracle be a good President? Not Really. Does that mean Ellison isn't qualified to be CEO of Oracle? It sure doesn't. If Palin wanted to be a NASCAR driver, would you debate her ability to be successful as a journalist? Nope.

The government relies on big business and it's interest groups to guide it. What politicians are really experts at anything? None.

Re: CNBC interviews Palin (Scripting News)

Wow, there's a big difference betw Obama speaking on his own and when he reads a professionally written speech that he rehearsed. If anything, it's going to make for a fantastic race. No matter who wins now, history will be made this election....and that my friends, is real change you can believe in.

People who control oil are important. The last step in the book for those rulers that do not wish to take on loans to have huge infrastructure built using US firms - is an invasion.

I think the secret is in the original Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Who orchestrated that? Saddam knew he didn't have a chance to keep the country. Did someone promise him something? Did he renig on the deal that was made and is that why we went in during 2003? Is that why we didn't go all the way to Baghdad? I think the answers begin there.

Re: Good afternoon from California (Scripting News)

Great post, once again, Dave.

Sadly, the concept of a government for and by the people is not exactly where we are anymore. The people want change, so they support Obama and trust him to deliver. Then he votes FOR FISA. It's discouraging.

The people, by a majority, are against the war in Iraq. So they elect more and more Democrats in 2006 trusting that they will end the operation. However, they just continue to fund it. Now Gary Ackerman sponsors HR 362 to enact a virtual war against Iran. A virtual war that could quickly, instantly, become a real war. A war that no polls show are favorable to the American public.

Re: Senate roll call on FISA renewal (Scripting News)

Today is July 9th.
