Don't think she was their sister Chris ( if it is the Kinks fellows you refer to), she was born in Wales in Oct 1944, Ray was born in London in May 44 - twins with a delayed birth???? Ray had 6 sisters but they were all older than him.

The Champions was a programme I loved as a wee boy, and love even now. It had absolute crap plotlines, crap acting, and crap mock scenery, but they did look pretty good, and the music was also great. The best one's always seemed to involve Voodoo.

Just to let you all know that the exhibition from the Mary Wilson collection that was showing in London is now at the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool until Feb first next year, a little nearer to visit for all of us "up north"!! This isn't just about the Supremes, it sets their music within the civil rights movement and other "happenings" at the time their fame was peaking. It also has lots of lovely outfits for us girls to get really excited about!! Has had rave reviews so catch it before it goes!!

Went to see this last week, if anyone is in the Edinburgh vicinity it is worth a look ( all girls clothes guys!)- it's FREE to get into, the first bay is the best dating from the early to mid 6ts, couldn't take pics and they had no p'cards of these ones, but I did some sketches that I'll post once I have a chance to scan them!!

Janny, i would have tried to do girls 'cuts but i wouldn't have a clue - in fact i had to do a bit research to get the names of these guys styles right (at least i think they're correct) - if you or anybody else wants to do something on the girls mod styles i would be glad to help out...

I stuck the article on 'stumble upon' - not sure how things work on there but it seems to have attracted some attention!

Janny I', ashamed to say that I have never seen any Pre Raph's in Tullie House, as I assumed they would not have any. I will have to go now. I been lucky enough to catch some in London though. I'm sure I seen some the Glasgow Boys work in Kelvin, but i cannot recall which ones.

Your varicose veins have some incredibly good taste Janny. And in reality it was only Lammy that did the jumping around dancing thing at the Scene Club. And only then when she had consumed a half bottle of Vodka too much Li Li !

I do like a bit of the old Titian myself Lammy. But the painting with the head of John the Baptist on a plate is a wee bit grueseome even for me. I just hope they gave it (the plate) a good scub afterwards.

And does anyone think that Ricky looks incredibly like Shakin Stevens at the top there. Certainly not a look popular amongst us Moddy types.

Am liking the jump about like maddies reference, means the Janny jnrs are currently dancing like the 80's Glasgow Mods! They are upstairs now supposed to be asleep, but I can hear refrains of David Watts coming down the stairs!
