DeShaun Thomas will NOT go to Ohio St.

2. Don't annoint Darwin Davis the best soph guard in the state until you come up north and watch a kid named NIC MOORE (18ppg/5apg/4rpg/3spg)....he's DY-NO-MITE! Unfortunately, Nic is being hounded by Matta AND Painter! YIKES! C'mon Tommy C...get on this kid!

3. "Diesel"...as he's known in Ft. Wayne...will most likely attend a Ju-Co to pacify the NBA's year out of high school rule. He has NO chance at becoming academically eligible for a Div I program...even one with as "Death Valley" standards as THE Ohio State University.

4. Hoosiers should NOT be clamoring over D. Thomas...he plays NO defense...and when I say "NO" i'm talking as "what are the chances of me suiting up and averaging 35ppg for the hoosiers next year???" NOne...NOtta...ZERO...NO-way! He doesn't make his teammates better. He's just not that great of an all-around basketball player. He'll get DEVOURED in college and will be lucky to see the floor in the NBA.

Congrats to J. Hulls and his team. They beat a TOUGH Snider squad who's ONLY loss before the state finals was to Thomas' Knights. Can't wait to see Hulls wearing the Crean and Crimson!

Re: Feb. 16, 2009: The day the Internet decided to bash Indiana for all the wrong reasons

UM...if I remember correctly...Ellis and Bassett were near the point where they were throwing blows with opposing players a couple times last year. And I know for a FACT that I called them out for it. The difference??? Crean has the testicular fortitude to sit a player, even if it IS his top scorer, to teach a LIFE-LESSON! As the season approached--we got excited about the possiblities of actually winning a few games we weren't supposed to (i.e. Going to the gas station and pulling out the 3 foot long card with all the lottery numbers on there...we fill in 6 numbers thinking "these are the winners baby!!")

2. We sit down every night waiting for the game to come on...anxiously awaiting the effort and discipline we so desperately desired out of last year's team (i.e. We stay up til 11pm to watch the live drawing of the powerball numbers)

3. Game is started with us actually grabbing a lead on a 3-point shot!!! (We have the first NUMBER as they pull the lottery ball out of the bingo machine!!!!)

4. The team looked respectable for the first 10 minutes (Holy COW!!! we actually had the 1st two numbers out of the bingo machine!)

5. ALL hell breaks loose! (i.e. We don't see a number withing 10 digits of our remaining 5 numbers!!!)

6. There's always the next game! (i.e. Can't wait for Saturday to play the powerball or hoosier lotto AGAIN!!! and suffer the same disappointing agony of going through steps 1-5 all over again!!!)

KEEP FIGHTING HOOSIERS! I have to say, I applaud this kid for making a decision that will help guide him into his future. The media circus that followed him after his de-committment to Illinois, his father being on the screen after EVERY made basket, the turnovers, the huge start to the season, the "ass/arm raking" that took place EVERYTIME he drove to the rim, the KS comment after the Illinois game, the wrist injury, the officials that appeared to have the mindset "I'm not letting this kid become bigger than the game!", .....these are all things that an 18 year old KID...and i repeat KID, had to deal with this year. I know adults that can't handle a freakin SHOPPING LIST and this KID had to try and help restore a "storied program" back into the national spotlight....all while dealing with a coaching staff who didn't feel the need to help him develop.

GET OFF EJ'S NUTZ PEOPLE! You want to assign blame for him going pro...you want to assign blame for the SOAP OPERA that was the 2007-2008 season??? Start with the following....

1. Former IU President Adam Herbert (and his Merry Band of Trustees)
~ are they not the ones responsible for the hiring of Kelvin Sampson?

2. Kelvin Sampson
~ Is he not the one who couldn't follow BASIC guidelines that outline recruiting?
~ Is he not the one who said...."I told him to shoot it EVERY time he gets it..."
~ Is he not ultimately the individual that is responsible for the development of the
players within the basketball program?
~ Is he not the one who sacraficed MORALS for WINNING?

3. Jamarcus Ellis, Armon Bassett, and Jordan Crawford
~ are they not the ones who showed IU nation that THEY are more important than
he "TEAM"?
~ are they not the IMMATURE parties in this whole situation?

4. Dan Dakich
~ I don't blame him as much as I used to. The "inmates" ran the "asylumn" for WAY
TOO LONG. As he became the 'new sheriff' in town, he was met with resistance by
players (see #3) who were too accustomed to having it THEIR way (see #2 for the
blame there).

If some of us would remove our heads from our anal cavities...we might see that EJ poured his heart and soul out EVERY game for the "GLORY OF OLD IU." All he did was go out and play hurt...further risking injury and MILLIONS of guranteed dollars. Instead of hammering the guy while he's struggling with a decision that NONE of US will EVER have to deal with, why can't we just wish him the best and thank him for the SWEAT and COURAGE he gave to this program...who cares if it was only for a year?

STOP BEING SELFISH PEOPLE!

Thanks EJ...best wishes in your future adventures! And know this...You've got a fan for life in ME. Keep your nose clean kid! It's been fun! GOOD LUCK

Re: The Aftermath: Eric Gordon

Last I heard, he was supposed to announce his decision on Monday.

Re: A new sense of direction for Indiana basketball

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wives claim the last time they were seen was roughly 6:30pm EDT on Tuesday. Many women are speculating it has something to do with the threat of NICE weather in the state, but others are claiming it has something to do with the continued demise of the Hoosier basketball program. Golf courses have not reported an influx of customers, so the men are not hitting the links. Bars are empty. Gentlemen's Clubs are going broke. Where did all the men go? No one knows.....

^switch cameras and anchor person^
IU finally ended 6 weeks of speculation today as they hired former Stanford coach Mike Montgomery. Montgomery spent some time in the NBA coaching the......wait.....what's this....oh dear....how sad....This just in...Mike Montgomery fell over dead of OLD AGE at his IU press conference today. All I could think about was Zeke running the show, or Mike Montgomery collecting his pension while on our sidelines, or Alford coming back to ressurect the ghost that is Bobby. I was ready to go into POSTAL MODE. When I first heard Crean's name last night, I was indifferent. But now that I reflect back on WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN...(Kruger, Thomas, Montgomery, Alford, or Dakich), I'm kind of excited about this hire. I'm just not sure why it took the PBR committee to find this guy. Now 3's on the other hand...but like i said...did you watch "Bracey" James this year? Dude shot like 39.8% from the field...YIKES! and EVEN WORSE from DOWNTOWN (31%)

Marquette shot a lot of 3s this year...they were 246-697 (35%) as a team.
His 2007-2008 team with an "outstanding point guard" averaged 15 assists and 13 tournovers per game this year. That assist average is not very good in my opinion. They averaged around 76 points per game. I'm nervous abou them only shooting 80+ more free throws than field goals in the entire season. I just know that they shot alot and had two guards (McNeal and James) who could go to the rim almost at will. I didn't see enough of that for my pleasure as I watched Marq. play this year. If EJ "smokes" his way out of the NBA draft...is that not a big deal?

If you're future is already laid out for you...(i.e. you're parents are filthy rich, you've already won the lottery, etc) then sure, getting high isn't a big deal.
