It's been an absolute pleasure being a part of this global family for the past year. I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again here: Working with Duncan and being involved with The Inquisitr from its birth until now has been an incredible experience -- and a real privilege, too.

I'm @jr_raphael on Twitter, by the way. My contention was simply that Facebook comes out on top in regard to the overall value of these two specific partnerships that were announced this week.

And sure, everyone gets a vote -- this was just my opinion.

Re: VIDEO: “The Sluts of Jonesboro” Dance Gets High School Team Suspended

Hi there -- FYI, we never stated that the girls were suspended from school. The *team* was suspended from performing for the remainder of the year. From the story:

"The Clayton County school district investigated the performance, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports, and decided to suspend the team from practicing or performing together for the remainder of the year. The girls were reportedly not disciplined individually outside of the team’s suspension."

Thanks for your comments!

Re: The Worst Band in the World, According to Google

With arms wide open....

::ducking::

Re: The Worst Band in the World, According to Google

Story is now updated with the fact that Creed vanished from those results just since this afternoon. I'd cast my vote for Creed, personally, but I could definitely see it being a close call...

It's an interesting point on the SEO perspective, too. I wonder if just the number of sites using the two phrases together would be enough to cause that to happen, or if it could have been an intentionally planted inside joke.

One observation: If you search for "creed" +"worst band in the world" -google (to eliminate the stories talking about the Google results themselves), there are a solid 350+ results.

Re: Get Free Dr. Pepper Online (Courtesy of Axl Rose)

Janet, the Dr. Pepper site's been having issues all day. The service has to dial the caller -- at the number they entered on the web site -- before connecting them to you. By virtue of that fact, if they enter a fake number, the call can't possibly go through. And caller ID is patched through to you with their actual name and number, as provided by the phone company. It doesn't look any different than if they'd dialed you directly.

Re: Twitt’d: Twitter, IM-Style

John, good point. This tool was the first of its kind I'd seen specifically designed and marketed for Twitter, which is why it struck me as interesting. IMified definitely does cover the same territory within its many offerings, though -- and it appears to be a far more secure option, too (or at least more open about being secure).

Re: Top 20 Web 2.0 Services

Well-said...even if you're calling us all abnormal. :-)

Re: Top 20 Web 2.0 Services

Ontario, good question. I did install it (see comment above), and -- as originally stated -- didn't find it to be a substantial improvement from the previous e-mail utilities I was already using. That's not to say everyone will feel the same; you are certainly welcome to your own opinion, even if you chose to express it as elegantly as you have here.

In any case, I do appreciate the pleasantries. Hope you have an enjoyable -- and perhaps even non-hostile -- afternoon.

Re: Yahoo Tries to Outdo Outlook with Zimbra

Drake, true -- I suppose it would be a step up from using the AOL or Y Mail interface. Personally, I have most of my accounts set up to route to a single Gmail account, which I typically check via IMAP through Outlook when I'm on my primary computer. For me, that provides fairly substantial on- or offline capability, and I've always got Xobni for conversation-based viewing options. It's certainly just a matter of personal preference, though.

Re: Borders Launches Audiobook MP3 Store With Free Offering

I haven't seen anything official in the way of the new Kindle supporting the MP3 audiobooks -- but agreed, that sure would seem to make sense for them.

Re: Firefox 3.0.1 Released

Yeah, I've not gotten the auto upgrade notification yet either -- though they do say it could take a couple days to appear.

Re: Comcast Company Picks Up Chirp Interactive

John, I've not heard one way or the other on that.
