That's big and hopefully other aspects of the team are on that same type of improvement curve (ahem, turnovers).

Re: Report: Indiana and David Williams have parted ways

I don't have any idea what happened here, whether Crean backed out or Williams did. It might be skill level or playing time or academics or something else, who knows. But I wish Williams the best in choosing which college to attend, it's a very tough yet important decision for an 18 year old to make.

Re: Observations from Indiana’s scrimmage at Nolan Fieldhouse

I know Crean said as recently as a couple of weeks ago that this team doesn't have a leader yet. And based on what I saw, I'd probably agree with his quote below:

"There is nobody that just grabs the team and says this is what we're doing everyday. I don't think there is anybody on the team that is like that right now. I don't think there is any question that when the coach is around, they're waiting for the coaches to do that."

Re: Observations from Indiana’s scrimmage at Nolan Fieldhouse

Alex or Jason or anyone else who was at the scrimmage, does it look like anyone has stepped up to be a team leader? You know, by being vocal and directing his teammates? Rivers or Dumes, maybe? Crean was always lamenting the lack of any leadership last year, so I'm curious if there are any players filling that role now.

Re: A sign Bob Knight will be back in November?

No one has talked to him in months, he didn't take a visit to Hoosier Hysteria and has no official visit planned to Bloomington.

And judging by the results so far, it doesn't seem like many people are confident he'll be a Hoosier.

Re: A sign Bob Knight will be back in November?

What is the impetus for the David Williams poll question?

Re: Why They’ll Win It All: Michigan State

Are you on crack or mushrooms or is it me.

I cannot see either in my wildest hallucinations. Memphis will have to go 2nd tier like before. Butler guy, WKU guy or even Xavier guy is what they will go for. Maybe Larry Eustachy if he is not too drunk to sign.

Happy to see Tony Bennett at UVA. Its arrogance without knowledge of the game. When you go to a game at UNC, it's the wine and cheese crowd who are there for the sake of being there.

Re: Why They’ll Win It All: North Carolina

You guys are talking about UNC fans being arrogant like we're not. I'm incredibly arrogant about Indiana's basketball royalty status. (Five banners, baby!) Don't try to act like you're not. (Count 'em, One, Two, Three, Four, Five!) Other great programs, and their fans, acting arrogant doesn't bother me. (Did I mention we've won Five Titles?!)

Re: I wasn’t going to address Calipari to Kentucky, until I read this

That's exactly what I was thinking. He was already getting the best recruits possible at Memphis, there's really no room for improvement. What did improve, by loads, was the schedule he'll have to face. He did try to schedule up some at Memphis, but it's still just Memphis in the CUSA. At Kentucky he'll face IU and UL every year, and UNC and/or KU a lot of years in the non-conference. Then he's in the SEC which, while not the greatest conference, is significantly better than CUSA, especially the coaches.

Now I don't think he'll fail by any means. I expect Kentucky to perform at just about the same level as Memphis has recently. The overall record won't be as gaudy because he'll have to suffer in conference losses now, but Kentucky will be a power under him. A national championship isn't out of the question.

Go Hoosiers! Kick his ass Tom!

Re: Why They’ll Win It All: North Carolina

I can't stop watching that Guitar Hero commercial. I still wonder why that Jeffries kid was recruited to IU, myself. I mean he only stayed two years.

Your silly. Ferguson is a 2010 recruit, which means he would be on that 2011 tournament team you have such grand plans toward.

It couldn't hurt to ask if he's reopening his recruitment, and if he does, by all means go after him. As frustrating as Story was at times, he had energy to spare, which I really enjoyed. I thought he was on the same curve as Wilmont and could have really been productive in his later years.

Oh well, hopefully he lands on his feet at a good school out west. I don't see how beating a 6-23 team helps their case at all. On the other hand, a loss to the Hoosiers most likely means they won't be invited.
