Doesn't seem to work on my X9076, when I hold the volume down key whilst turning the phone on, the screen goes black and then the device just reboots. Perhaps an issue with the newest firmware (1.2.8i)?

Deary me, you two are like children. What actually is the real issue here? That sometimes a human has to intervene where the computers fail? How is this different to anything else?

In my company, the older generation you refer to there was trialled in a couple of our stores, I remember seeing a bulletin on our intranet detailing the differences between models. Obviously it wasn't successful though, cause we never received any.

And why only GPRS? By todays standards that's painfully slow.

Doesn't suprise me, I work for a retailer at an airport whose name I won't mention, we sell the official Blackberry chargers which have recently gone up to £34.99! And that's the tax free price as well, which suggests that the tax inclusive price would be £40! £40 for a phone charger?!

May I recommend 3, never had a problem with their online system, I can look at my bills in detail, past and present.

You can receive phone calls at the same time as using GPRS.

Just applied it yesterday, works like a dream. Have my 3 sim in it now it's great, much better than O2.
May require a restore if it doesn't work first time though.

I was in a town local to me known as Harlow last Sunday, doing a bit of Christmas shopping. A friend of mine was looking at upgrading as his contract was expiring soon, so we went to the O2 shop. There were only two members of staff there, and after waiting about 15 minutes, we decided to give up and leave. I was thinking of buying a new handset so we went to the Carphone Warehouse. Again, only two members of staff, and after waiting a while again, we left. Obviously, in retail, one of the worst things you can do, is let your customers walk out the door without even having said hello, especially on the Sunday before Christmas.

My advice would be, if you're looking to buy a new phone or contract, don't go to Harlow.

On the plus side, I had no problems with the Threestore there, was able to talk to a member of staff straight away, and ended up buying the wonderful Nokia E71 for the lovely price of £225 (plus the obligatory £10 topup).

See if your exchange is enabled for one of the LLU operators (I believe you can do this at samknows.com). I live near Stansted Airport, and our exchange is enabled for the excellent Be, if I download something, I get a nice consistent, 1.8MB a second.
