The Journal endorsed District 1 Commissioner incumbent Jason Marks over challenger and friend of the Publisher Tim Cummins. Somewhat surprising until you realize what a pathetic campaign Cummins has ran, how much support Marks has, and how the Journal endorses Democrats when they know they'll win down ballot races. Things are odd because the Journal does not have the endorsement online (like it does for District 3) and it wasn't included in the West side edition of the Sunday paper even though it overlaps with District 1. Endorse but not too much when its a progressive Democrat?
